About
A guitar tuner, ukulele tuner, violin tuner and metronome in one calm, dark screen. Pluck a string and the needle shows you exactly where you are. Green means in tune. No menus to dig through, no account, no setup - open it and tune.
TUNE ANY STRING INSTRUMENT
Tunora knows 16 instruments and their real tunings, so you always see the right notes for what is in your hands:
- Guitar tuner for 6, 7, 8 and 12 string guitars, acoustic, classical or electric
- Bass tuner for 4 and 5 string bass, plus double bass
- Ukulele tuner with High-G, Low-G and Baritone tuning
- Violin tuner, viola tuner and cello tuner for the orchestra and the practice room
- Fiddle tuner too - the violin tuning is the same for folk fiddle
- Mandolin tuner and banjo tuner for bluegrass and folk
- Balalaika tuner and domra tuner, both 3 and 4 string domra
- Chromatic tuner for anything else - piano strings, harp, horns, your voice
ACCURATE TO THE CENT
The needle reacts the moment you play and reads your pitch to the cent. Tunora finds the string for you, so you just pluck and turn the peg. On tight tunings like the ukulele, the big letter always shows the note you actually played, so you know which way to turn. When a string lands in tune the screen glows green and the phone gives a soft tap.
ALTERNATE TUNINGS READY TO GO
- Guitar: Standard, Drop D, DADGAD, Open G, Open D, E flat Standard
- 7 string: Standard and Drop A
- Bass: Standard and Drop D
- Ukulele: High-G, Low-G, Baritone
- Banjo: Open G
Need something else? Build your own tuning string by string, give it a name and keep it. Your tunings sit right next to the built-in ones.
TUNE BY EAR
Pick a string, press Play, and Tunora holds a clean, steady reference note while you tune against it. Great for learning to hear pitch, for tuning in a noisy room, or for checking a string twice.
CONCERT PITCH
Set A4 anywhere from 430 to 450 Hz. Play with an orchestra at 442, match an old recording, or tune a choir to a piano that sits a little flat.
A METRONOME YOU CAN WATCH
- A real swinging pendulum - follow the beat with your eyes as well as your ears
- 30 to 240 BPM, drag the weight or tap the tempo in
- Four warm click sounds: Beep, Wood, Block and Tick
- Accents on 2, 3, 4 or 6 beats, or a plain steady beat
- Rock-steady timing that does not drift over a long practice
MADE TO STAY OUT OF YOUR WAY
- True black screen, easy on the eyes on stage and at night
- Nothing jumps or shifts while you tune - every label stays where it is
- Big note, few words, every control one tap away
- The tuner works without internet
GOOD FOR
Beginners tuning their first guitar or ukulele. Students with a violin, viola or cello. Bass players. Folk players with a mandolin, banjo, balalaika or domra. Teachers with a room full of instruments. Singers who want a quick pitch check. Guitarists switching between standard and drop tunings from song to song. Anyone who wants a quick, honest tuner and a metronome that keeps time.
HOW TO TUNE
1. Choose your instrument and tuning at the top.
2. Play one string and let it ring.
3. Needle left means flat, tighten the string. Needle right means sharp, loosen it.
4. Stop when the needle is in the middle and the screen turns green.
5. Move to the next string. Done.
TIPS FOR A TUNING THAT HOLDS
- Tune up to the note. If you go sharp, drop below it and come back up, the string settles better.
- New strings stretch for a day or two. Tune, play a little, tune again.
- Pluck firmly and let the string ring. A clear note reads faster than a short, muted one.
- Tune in a quiet spot when you can, and keep the phone close to the instrument.
- Check the first string again at the end. Changing tension on the others moves it a little, especially on a 12 string guitar or a ukulele.
Tunora is made by a small independent team. It is free to use and contains ads. If it helps you play in tune, a rating means a lot to us.
