Great product with poor app

I bought 3 of them, they were gifts, one for me. The screen is constantly trying to update showing a gear even though the app says it’s connected to WiFi Bluetooth and Apple Music. Very fickle. Too bad I reallly loved it when it worked properly. Even as I write it finds the proper image and then it drops again. Frustrating.

Frustration

My Tuneshine keeps dropping its WiFi connection, which means the album art freezes or fails to update. I’ve already completed all available software and firmware updates, followed the online troubleshooting steps (including Direct Internet mode), and still experience frequent disconnects.
I use Sonos daily and consider myself reasonably tech-savvy, so this doesn’t appear to be a simple user-setup issue. The WiFi reliability (and by extension the album-art feature) still needs work on the software side.

Cool idea, poor execution

Easily the most unreliable electronic in my home (and I’m counting Sonos in that mix!). You never really know if it’s going to work. Firmware updates are like Mr Toad’s Wild Ride. Pretty disappointing overall TBH.

PERFECT!

Displays album art from the big green round music app perfectly and just love the idle and sleep images so it will display pictures you want. Thanks again

Love it!

The Tuneshine screen is even better than I imaged it would be. It looks great(quality walnut), is well constructed and is intuitive to use. Not only does it automatically display the album cover of anything I listen to on Spotify, it allows me to display the cover of whatever I play on cd or vinyl with the push of a button. I like the look of the pixelized display. Highly recommended.

So cool!!! And so easy!

I’ve had the Tuneshine on my desk for over a year now, and I ABSOLUTELY ADORE IT! Connected it once to my Spotify and haven’t had to touch it since. It updates fast and the app does everything it needs to. Love it! Highly recommend.

Auto Shazam?

I bought this unit so when I listen to Vinyl or other music not affiliated with Spotify or FM, I don’t have to manually Shazam every song every time.

Why wouldn’t there be an “Auto Spotify” feature?
(Always listening for new music playing)
I paid for the App & Unit.

Disappointing…….

Amazing product

I absolutely love my Tuneshine! Super easy to set up and integrate with Sonos, and it adds a whole new visual dimension to my music. Guests love it too, and comment on it all the time.

Added bonus: I created a QR code for my guest WiFi, and set this as the idle screen.

Fantastic setup experience

I don’t think I’ve had a device be so effortless to setup and enjoy. It’s doing what I want it to do and it looks great.

Very cool fun gadget to impress your friend

First, you need to purchase a hardware to go along with this but it’s a very very cool lo-fi LED hardware gadget to show album arts or a picture of your choosing. The creator is a very active one-man shop making stuff in US by hand. That alone makes it very unique.

Yes it’s not a necessity. Nothing. To argue there, if you find the concept cool and is pondering, it’s good quality stuff for what it does.

Simple, intuitive, purpose-built

Obviously you’re only snagging this app to pair with your Tuneshine, but it’s shockingly intuitive, and super simple to navigate. Shazam for vinyl (built into the app), really was the cherry on top.

Review of the App

The app has worked flawlessly for me. It does exactly as advertised, and I couldn’t be happier with its simplicity.

Beautiful product and simple, functional app

I couldn't be happier. Such a wonderful, joyful product. And the developer is very responsive. Not sure what else you could ask for

Simply Beautiful

The app is quite basic and simple to use making it a snap to setup quickly. As they update, in the future, it would be nice to have a slideshow option to display multiple pics instead of just one when not in use.

Great product, would love to see a few features.

Fantastic product, easy setup.
Would love the following:
- Allow personal photos to be shown on standby
- Allow Clock/calander on standby

Wonderful App!

I was able to get Tuneshine up and running almost immediately without any issues or searching for help. The app is straightforward, intuitive and integrates with the Tuneshine hardware flawlessly. I recommend this product wholeheartedly for any and all music lovers who stream their tunes!

Problem after problem

Problem after problem with this device. Has one of the weakest WiFi chips I’ve ever encountered. The router is one small room away (with an open passageway) in eyesight of the device and constant connectivity issues. The server is frequently down. Tuneshine wants to charge users a subscription fee for using more than one source for the covers. No thanks.

Wonderful!

It’s rare that something wows you right out of the box. Tobias has done this with TuneShine. Device is well made and for me, it just works. My wife even approves of it. Thank you Tobias!

Looks so good!

I keep it near my record player, and it’s like I’m displaying the record sleeve when I play my Spotify music!

My friends love it!

There is nothing in my house that gets more hype and excitement than my tune shine. People love it!! And me too, I’ve never seen nearly the same kind of variety of album arts as I do now and I’m so into it.
