Great Concept, bad bug

The whole app is an awesome, but after about 15 min of setup, it’s a huge disappointment to open the app and find everything’s been wiped clean. Maybe I did something wrong, setup again, close app, open again next day, wiped clean. Hopefully this can be fixed because I had 4 other coworkers download the app before I knew about the glitch.

Response from developer

We are incredibly sorry to hear about the data loss you experienced. This is absolutely not the experience we want for Turf/OS users, especially after the effort of setting up your property. We have received a small number of similar reports and, while we haven't been able to reproduce this 'wipe' in our internal testing, we have just released version 1.0.18 (build 35) which includes major hardening of our persistent storage system specifically to prevent this. These changes add extra safeguards to ensure your data is preserved across app closures and updates. Could you let us know which iPhone model and iOS version you are using? This detail is vital for our investigation into these rare edge cases. We are committed to making Turf/OS durable for you and your coworkers. Thank you for your patience and for sharing the app with your team.

Game Changer

I’ve tried a LOT of tools to manage landscaping jobs, and nothing has come close to Turf-OS. This app seriously changed the way I run my business.

Scheduling used to be a mess…now I can organize my entire week in minutes. It’s a simple and all in one stop shop. It’s saved me hours every week and helped me stay way more organized.

What I love most is how easy it is to use. You don’t have to be “techy” to figure it out—it just makes sense. Plus, it actually feels like it was built for people in the landscaping business, not some generic software trying to do everything.

If you’re running a lawn care or landscaping company and feeling overwhelmed, you NEED this app. It’s a game changer.

Great Thought Failed Implementations

UPDATE TO 1 STAR: Now the application does not persist its data and my entire yard profile has been deleted.

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME WOTH THIS APPLICATION

As a mobile application developer I can tell you this app lacks some basic functionality, one specifically in the CRUD architecture is the U - Update data functionality. User can Create aspect to the application (shed products, yards, etc) obviously have the ability to read the data and can delete it. However if you add a product to your shed and you enter data incorrectly you can’t go back and edit that entry. Instead you have to Delete and start over.

Explicit close view functionality is missing. When in a “pop up view” or modal view, the application doesn’t have an explicit close functionality.

Scaling and view limits. Some views have a “back” action button in the top left, however on different form factors this action button can be deemed useless as the touch points are being rendered outside of the usable space.

Response from developer

Thanks for the incredible feedback! We'll certainly include these thoughts into our continued development of the app moving forward. This type of detailed criticism is extremely beneficial. Thanks again!

Looks cool but….

Really wanted to use this app. Saw it on a FB group and wanted to support but the mapping is just horrible. Couldn’t get past that part and just went with a different app. Maybe if that part gets better I’ll try again.

Response from developer

Thanks for the detailed feedback! We are currently investigating the best path forward for the mapping functions so that it can live up to the rigorous expectations of our users. Continue to follow along for future updates!

This app will…

…help you in your quest to dominate Mr. Vargas. Or something close. Well, you’ll feel and look like you are anyway.

In conclusion, jk, thanks for your work on this and sharing it with the rest of the SLS dominators. Killer work. 🍻
