Unreliable
I’ve been using Wyzant for quite a few years, and it just feels like they never update their mobile software. Messages rarely go through on both the app and desktop versions, notifications are unreliable, and I’m constantly being logged out. This isn’t a banking app—it’s a messaging app. Leave me logged in! I’d be less salty if wyzant didn’t take such a high commission.

Super buggy and glitchy
Some of bugs and glitches have existed many years and never get a fix.
Rejected by 18a and no explanation
I guess no need for explanation, you can understand from the title. Btw 18a is just “didn’t met vetting requirements”. I am pursuing a grad program in biochemistry and molecular bio. So I don’t think I am not qualified to teach chemistry or biology. And it is not like they just said you can’t they deactivated my account so all the time I spent on writing putting information and on quiz, gone.

Will the messaging ever work?
I’ve been a tutor in Wyzant for 6 years, and I think the service itself and the tutoring platform is solid. My review is just about the app. Why doesn’t the messaging work properly? Messages will appear in my email notifications but will not appear in the app. I’ll have to search the client by name to see the message, and it still will not show up as new. I have used newer iPhones (currently the 16) and I can only reliably answer client messages through my PC. I’ve actually lost business because I couldn’t get to a PC to answer a query. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Ugh. Once I get the message, though, the app is fine for scheduling and managing appointments. Ugh.

Waste of time
I’m an expert in my field and after taking the time to complete everything to become a tutor they deactivated my account without giving me any reason.
Best tutoring app ever!
I’ve been using Wyzant to find and connect to different students and to work a second job on the side and it’s been absolutely terrific! Thank you Wyzant!
Poor communication and app issues
I hate to say that I once had so much hope to try an app like Wyzant, but was left very disappointed with the poor communication and/or app issues involved in set up that resulted in a complete loss in faith that this app is one worth having. Save your time and energy, hopefully they fix their issues!!!

The App Doesn’t Work
I have an account, but the app will not let me sign in at all. It says that my request has failed and to try again later. I’ve been trying for days. I can sign in online just fine, it’s just the app won’t let me in.
Messages Disabled!
For 3 days my app won’t access messages from students!
I must not be the only one.

Love tutoring with wyzant but app is broken
I have been tutoring on wyzant for about 4 years now and it has been the best work experience I have ever had. You get to set your own hours, their cut is a fraction of other tutoring sites out there, and there are so many interesting students and subjects you will encounter. Unfortunately the app has been completely broken for me for about 6 months now. Nothing whatsoever shows up when I open the app and it just gives me an error message. It’s up to date so I’m not sure what the issue is but I would love it if y’all could fix it!!

I am a tutor on Wyzant and this app helps me answer emails in minutes. I try to answer quickly so I can pick up as many students in a day as I can
App no longer working
The app was great. But for over a month now, every time I open the app I get a red banner saying “Something went wrong…”
Buggy and Broken

The app alerts me about new tutoring requests but I cannot read or respond to these requests in the app. I am greeted with a red banner and a message “Something went wrong. Please try your request again later.”
I’ve tried restarting my phone, updating to the latest operating system, updating the app in the App Store. The message remains and the app bug persists.

App update broke key functionality
The update to the app has made it so you can no longer turn your profile on and off with the app. Request notifications are also being dropped which causes your search ranking to drop.
Very helpful app
The app is helpful and overall I thank you guys for it. A few things I notice though that would make it perfect for me:
1) Often when I leave the app to check on my other apps and return to Wyzant, the message I was composing to a student disappears. This happens even if I leave for less than 30 seconds sometimes. More message permanence would be great.
2) When you submit a lesson, it would be great if there was a “repeat next week” function like there is on the desktop website.
3) Being able to view your profile would be great.
None of these comments detract from the fact that I enjoy the app and find it helpful, but these are just suggestions if you guys continue to develop the app.

Great app, works most of the time!
This app is user-friendly and easy to learn and navigate. However, recently my messages and dashboard do not load properly, so I have to log in through Safari. The loading wheel just keeps spinning.
Overall, good stuff, just wish there weren’t intermittent bugs. But hey, for being free to use with no monthly fee or commitment, it’s probably the best app out there.
