Faulty

The app did not connect to the tv at all or anything

Not as advertised

I install home theatre and TVs. I was looking for a set of test patterns to send through Apple TVs via AirPlay. This app does not do this as claimed, Very disappointed, app waste of money to me.

I would like to thank you for getting back to me....... Two years after the original review was posted and after wiping all the reviews.
Unfortunately I can no longer evaluate your product to see if it finally works. I have left the home entertainment industry after being fed up with all the hype and bull about product that don’t preform as they are supposed to.
Little hint, actually test your product with all the combinations of gear it is suppose to work with.

Response from developer

The iOS app can send test patterns and audio test signals to an AppleTV through AirPlay. Just turn on screen mirroring, to enable apps to connect to the display. Now that there's a direct AppleTV version, you can also skip that step. If you bought the app for iOS you already own it for AppleTV!

Doesn't Detect Monitor

I am an AV Service Technician. The company I was contracting with at the time I bought my iPad mini used this app on iPads and iPhones to test monitors during room sweeps. It was fine and I bought an iPad mini mostly for that purpose and to run this app. I need to use it again for my current job. Now it does not detect the monitor connected. The only change is that it had OS 6 when I got it and now it has OS 8. The last update was in 2012. They need to update it so it will run on OS 8. It is useless to me now and I paid for the app! I want my money back!

Does not support true Full HD

When I connect to my TV or monitor there is a black frame all around the app content. App becomes useless.

Please fix this and add support for bad pixels hunting.

Response from developer

Use the overscan adjustment (under settings - a gear icon), to expand the patterns to exact edges of a particular display.

Wrightconnection

I'm a communications contractor (audio/video installer) and find this app to be pretty worthless. You can make some contrast and brightness adjustments, but that's about all. I haven't tried the convergence option because its only used for projectors and really old dlp flat screen TVs. Lots of impressive looking colorful test patterns that don't do anything. Wait for something better and don't waste your money on this one.
