Shame on you Susie for putting your name to this chaos! Great little game, quickly ruined by ridiculous amount of ads and awful pop ups. Made it unplayable. I know I could pay to be rid of them, but a hefty price tag for a word game. Quickly deleted. Made me feel sad…
I’m so disappointed with this game that I have deleted it. The ads popped up after my first word was played. It was the last straw when it took almost a minute and five taps on crosses to get back to the game. It just takes too long to play one game. I have had this game for a couple of years and have revisited it a number of times to see if things have improved. They have just got worse. No more!

Like playing in this app. One has to try words in several places to find the best score. Sometimes surprised when words are not allowed. May be a regional thing?
Can’t even play it straight without ads popping every 2 moves soo annoying!!!!!
Very helpful with spelling
Don’t bother paying, you still have to watch ads to make the game playable so it’s a total waste of money. Theres no opportunity to learn anything either, so prepare to spend half your time on google.
I enjoy this game, but notifications have never worked for me. To find out if someone has played you have to open the app from time to time. Also the ads are increasing, and can sometimes cause an issue and the app has to be shut to escape the ad.
Never got to play because the continuous pop ups insisting I do what it said. No way to skip them. How many minutes is one expected to follow the directions of a bot. I’m out.
The update has rendered this app useless. Bombarded with ads and flashing lights, gimmicks that would go unnoticed in a casino full of slot machines.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s stable enough and the ads are easily enough bypassed, but with each update they make it a little worse, clearly with the aim of forcing people to spend money on it and watch more ads. The daily bonus was reduced then dropped. You now need to watch an ad to try the (admittedly woefully inaccurate) best guess gauge thing. No idea what’s happened to the rewards as they’re so pitiful I didn’t notice them anyway. Thing is, the game’s not good enough to be worth any money (other than a one-off 69p in the good old days of the App Store) so I suspect its days on my phone are numbered.

Timing of ads ruins games

I enjoy this game, but an am a little puzzled as to why there are no notifications on the app. To find out if someone has played you have to open the app from time to time. Also the ads can sometimes cause an issue and the app has to be shut to escape the ad.
Good concept, but ads are sole destroying. Also, it feels rigged. I was constantly getting new tiles that were all vowels, while Thea and Wordsworth were killing it with great words featulits of consonants. Difficult to make a game of it with 7 tiles of U, E & I.
I’ve been waiting for the new app to come out- I bought the previous version for £2.99 and was really disappointed it stopped. The game concept remains the same in the new version, which is the only reason I haven’t deleted the app- I love playing the game. But the paraphernalia that comes with it this time round is pointless and gimmicky. I don’t care about earning coins and gems to customise my avatar. And I don’t want all the ads, but there’s no way I’m paying monthly to get rid of them… can I buy it for £2.99 like the last version please? And can I just have the last version back please? Thanks.

While the concept is good, the experience is highly frustrating. Ads pop up all the time and last at least a minute before you can get back to your game. If that wasn't bad enough, they are all for other highly dodgy looking games involving some dimwit king or other. Secondly, there seem to be too many opponents who are either bots or cheats and are magically able to lay down 7 letter words nobody could possibly know and rack up 90+ scores in most rounds. Seemed like it might be a good game but they've shot themselves in the foot with this. Sorry Susie. Deleted.

Love this game but really unimpressed with the reward changes where I used to get 100 points daily and last level up I got 400 points. Now I get 25 points bonus and just got 100 points for leveling up. I accept ads while I play but I don’t want to watch them for rewards. I just want to play my game. So disappointing to associate Susie Dent with this kind of crass capitalist accumulation.

I love the concept of this game, and I do love playing it, but, those ads drive me insane!!!! Some of them don’t let you out until you close the game down. I’m not paying those prices to go ad free and I’m not paying an ongoing charge either. I used to like connecting with my opponent with the selection of phrases in the old game, it was nice to have a way of communicating without being “chatted up” but now there’s nothing. In the rivals list, I’d like the option of seeing my most played rivals at the top. It would also be nice to personalise your avatar so you can differentiate with other people. I think it’s a great game, but it could be developed further.

I’m enjoying the game but the ads are annoying as they pop up mid game rather than at the end and they are glitchy. I’ve had to close the game several times to get out of them when they stuck. Having won against all the other bots I decided to play the Susiebot but it feels like the algorithm is off. The bot manages several 7 letter scores in a round while I am given 6 or 7 vowels or no vowels at all! This has happened more than you would expect for random dishing out of letters. The bot has played ‘janglers’ as a word a couple of times in 2 days which again feels it should be more unlikely than that. It feels like an impossible to win level due to unfair tile distribution . I drew one game when I had passed on the first go and the bot did too so it was no score draw.

Ads are annoying some just seem to close things down. Other than that it’s a very smart and a good fun challenge with lots of game play options.
