If you contact us directly via our website to explain exactly what function does not appear to be working for you (the notepad itself? or they keyboard extension?), we will do our best to help.

Workable but highly flawed

Hello Gwynn, we're really sorry that you've had such an uneven experience creating and syncing snippets. We do test our apps as far as we can before release, using a combination of simulators and test hardware. However, as there are only two of us and we can't test for every possible setup, sometimes glitches can slip through. We act on these as soon as they are reported to us. Due to the review process, when new devices are released with very little notice it can take us a little while to get updates in to the store to accommodate unexpected changes such as different screen sizes or other feature tweaks. The good news is we are currently hard at work on a major overhaul of our flagship Mac app that ought to finally address the stability issues that can affect the legacy version Apple currently sells on the Mac App Store. In our testing so far it works well in tandem with the TypeIt4Me Touch notepad app. If you'd like to get early access to test the beta and help us identify interoperability issues, please do get in touch with us directly via our website. We'd love the opportunity to work with you to smooth things out, improve your experience and make our apps better for everyone.
Still Not Syncing

Hello. We released an update a few months ago with revisions to the syncing code that we had hoped might resolve things for you. We are truly sorry to learn it didn't fix the issue affecting your device. We tried unsuccessfully to reproduce the same behaviour in our testing here; the fact that it doesn't happen in a repeatable way we can observe makes it difficult to identify and address the cause of the problem. We had to make changes based on our best guess of what might be going wrong. If it were happening consistently to others, too, that might give us more clues to go on and open up further avenues of investigation. Unfortunately, it appears to be unique to your setup (or if others have experienced the same thing, they just haven't reported it). If you like, we could arrange for a screen sharing session to troubleshoot with you in real time. Alternatively, we could send you a TestFlight invitation so you can have early access to TypeIt4Me 7.0 (currently in beta) on your Mac to see if that is also affected by your sync issue. Please get in touch again if you'd like us to have another crack at solving this problem for you.

Time saver that syncs across devices
It’s a little frustrating to have to invoke a special keyboard in order to access the snippets, but that’s a limitation set by Apple not the developer.

Es steht auf unserer Liste der Dinge, die hinzugefügt werden müssen, aber da wir nur zu zweit sind, um mehrere Apps zu entwickeln und zu unterstützen, kann es manchmal lange dauern, bis wir alle Wünsche unserer Kunden erfüllen. As a Japanese user, I feel it would be perfect if two points could be improved.
Ability to do cursor inserts (enable %| commands)
Support for flick input keyboard (snippets can be used with Japanese flick keyboard )
It is already a good app, but if these two features are added, I will be able to recommend it to everyone.
Not working for me at all
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but nothing works.
I choose the type it for me keyboard using the globe key as usual.
Then type, in apple mail, nothing in any app nothing including the notes section in TypeIt4Me
I’m quite computer literate so can’t imagine what my sister would do.

Hello Bill, we're sorry to hear you ran into difficulty. It could be that you have not granted full access for the keyboard extension, or it could be that the sets containing your snippets are not enabled. You need to make sure the switch next to a set's name is toggled on if you want the snippets in that set to expand. If you're still having trouble, please contact us directly via the support form on our website so we can help you get up and running.
Fantastic app with great support
I did have some small issues with the app but it’s fantastic to see the app developers take this on board and implement them in just a few months!

Hello Matt, thank you for your constructive feedback. We're happy to announce that we've just released an update and you can now activate multiple sets. To do this, either tap the switch next to a set's name or swipe right across it to toggle it on and off. As for swiping to go back, this was already supported as it is a standard iOS feature wherever a screen features a back button. We're not sure why it's not working on your device but we'll investigate further in case there's a bug we need to fix.

I also miss being able to swipe down on the keys to get the numbers without having too switch to the number layout.
If those two issues could be resolved, I'd give it 5 stars.

Doesn’t behave well with external keyboards
Other than that major issue, looks like it could be a useful app.

Hello, we’re sorry to hear you’re having trouble with the keyboard add-on. As noted in the app description, text expansion while typing on a connected hardware keyboard is only possible when typing in the TypeIt4Me Touch notepad app itself. For security reasons, Apple has developed its iOS platform in such a way that third party apps like ours are only permitted to expand your abbreviations inside other apps when you bring up and type directly on the on-screen keyboard extension. TypeIt4Me Touch cannot expand your abbreviations while you’re using a different app and typing on a hardware keyboard accessory. This restriction is built in to the iOS operating system, so it applies to all third party keyboards like ours and can’t be circumvented. That said, it does sound like the on-screen keyboard extension may be behaving differently on your device than it does in our own tests. Normally it should not stay up when a hardware keyboard accessory is connected and activated. If you’d be willing to contact us directly at our support address with further details, please do get in touch. We’d like the opportunity to troubleshoot this with you and help resolve the issue.
