Awful login system. Can’t use email. Must use phone. Says my password is wrong. You want me to create a second account when I already have one working fine on the website? Do you test your app???
Fix the App!
I could not update my contact information. Always got an error even after entering the verification code. Deleting the app and starting over with a fresh app did not change anything. Reported the issue to my local U-Haul and the representative told me that many people are having issues for years with the app. Save your time and prevent frustration. Deal with a human instead of the app.

Can’t even update a password
This app sucks; if you can’t log in, and need to update your password, it doesn’t properly validate what you type in against its password requirements, and so it
never enables the Continue button after you enter the matching updated password into a separate field…you know, to VALIDATE. So you can’t proceed to seeing your reservation details. Nice.

Almost completely useless.
I’ve rented from U-Haul literally dozens of times including five times in the last month and the app always makes it much more difficult.

Cannot complete sign in
Was not able to sign in my profile, could not use the app - 1 star. I am able to access it on web. The app seems to only take me through account creation steps (which fail because I already have an account).
Fix your login flow - it is the first thing a user will do. They might have an account already, make sure your app accounts for that. It’s 2026 you should be able to have a working app.

Super sketchy
They changed my pick up time, they changed the location. So now I have to go into the centre of the city to pick up the vehicle instead of the location that was right by my house. My expected kilometers (that is 100 percent billable) is very likely going to be triple now and the live chat option for support simply copies and pastes the section of the app sign up process that tells you they can legally do this.

Do everything in person
I downloaded the app because I thought it would be better than the terrible website. It is just as bad. Takes forever to try and do anything with either. Love the company/products, but the electronic aspect is truly awful.
Sign in doesn’t work
This app is total trash. Neither one time code or sign in works. I’ll probably be all moved in by the time it is fixed.
Doesn't work BUT drains battery 👌🏼
Wouldn't allow me to pick up my truck with the app, but it still managed to drain a completely charged phone to 0% in less than 8 hours, then couldn't drop the truck off with the app. I love waiting in parking lots for owners to show up almost as much as I love an app tracking my every move and draining my phone. It's a distinctly American innovation to be in business for 81 years and still manage to make every customer interaction miserable. They're killing it!

Terrible app
It’s impossible to extend rentals because it asks for a zip code but in Canada we use postal codes which require letters and numbers but nowhere will it allow letters to be put in and now I’ve been screwed over and using the live chat is trash because the person on the other end makes it worse
Very useful but saps your battery
Nice app, but used 27% of my battery just running in the background. Needs power optimization....
Overhaul the app
Terrible. Have to restart from the beginning with any changes you want to make. Also, camera doesn’t allow you to focus so images are blurry. Which they won’t accept.

Don’t use the app
When renting a U-Haul, you just have to suffer through the 30 minutes of wait time on the phone. Using the app is not reliable at all. It doesn’t allow you to change your birthdate to your actual year. It’s just as frustrating as trying to call. So just call. It’ll save you stress.
Always bugs out
The app never lets you sign in, can’t reset password, can’t text you a login link. It’s useless. This has been going on for months

Your app is god awful. I rented a truck for a move on Friday and the return date was Sunday. Pick up was fine. Truck was perfect. Trying to use your app to return the truck today a day early mind you was absolutely a terrible experience. My phone had good signal and I still had to start over 4 times to progress to the 2nd of 5 steps. And then it still didn’t want progress from that step. I finally gave up and just put the key in the drop box. Also very big of you to charge your customers $20 to have a person check in the rental when your app is terribly built. Thanks for nothing.

Awful App
This application is so garbage, there is no feasible way it’s that hard to maintain such basic app. The authentication methods do no work, you cannot edit your basic information, payments error out on the payment screen, the app crashes constantly. Nothing is accurate, whoever manages this app needs to be fired.

TERRIBLE APP
Cannot log in but able to log in on site no problem. It’s so buggy. It crashes all the time. Trying to just navigate around is so frustrating. So slow and does not respond appropriately. Tried on iPad also and same thing. Tried on iOS 18 and 26. It’s unusable. The employees keep saying use rhe app but I can’t! It’s unsusable

Please stop asking for my location
I am trying to plan a move while I am in a different city than my departure city and the location access feature is causing a ton of problems for this. I know where I need to move from, you don’t have to detect it from my phone.
