Typical lazy government app

The app is terrible. It's only function is to open a .pdf version of Army Echos. Instead of having something useful like links which take you to scalable articles that you can read on your phone, this 'app' just opens a document that you need two fingers to punch and squeeze and move around your phone to read. What is this, 1998? I wonder how much tax payer money was wasted on this useless app?

Response from developer

Hello Kelly, thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the frustration the current .pdf format has caused. We are actively exploring ways to provide a more mobile-friendly, scalable reading experience for our Retirees. Please feel free to share any further suggestions directly with us at ArmyEchoes@army.mil

📰Working better, still could use a little update

After reading the May ~ July 2023 newsletter, I downloaded the app.
*Latest newsletter: Feb~Apr 2023. Not up to date.
*Clicked on a link - worked great. Couldn’t get back to Echo article.
*Couldn’t forward or send article to another program.
*Couldn’t select text to have it read (spoken).

With a few updates, this app could get 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Horrible app

If the people who developed this app were in charge of developing the plans for the Normandy invasion, we'd all be speaking perfect German today. This isn't rocket science guys. For example, you click on the lastest issue and nothing happens. And if an older issue does open, it's just a .pdf in really tiny font that our old, retired eyes can't read. Sure, you can use two fingers to zoom in, but then can't read the rest of the article without scrolling left and right, up and down. Whoever is responsible for this should be reassigned to permanent police call around some random parking lot. Maybe then the government will get its money's worth.

Typical Army Website

App doesn’t work, only displays newsletters from 2 years ago. Why are all military websites over complicated and unintuitive? I only use when absolutely necessary and it is always frustrating, never easy.

No updates in a year

US Army wants to claim how important its Retired members are, yet they haven’t updated this in a year. Cannot get new editions without an update.
