Typical lazy government app

The app is terrible. It's only function is to open a .pdf version of Army Echos. Instead of having something useful like links which take you to scalable articles that you can read on your phone, this 'app' just opens a document that you need two fingers to punch and squeeze and move around your phone to read. What is this, 1998? I wonder how much tax payer money was wasted on this useless app?

📰Working better, still could use a little update

After reading the May ~ July 2023 newsletter, I downloaded the app.
*Latest newsletter: Feb~Apr 2023. Not up to date.
*Clicked on a link - worked great. Couldn’t get back to Echo article.
*Couldn’t forward or send article to another program.
*Couldn’t select text to have it read (spoken).

With a few updates, this app could get 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Horrible app

If the people who developed this app were in charge of developing the plans for the Normandy invasion, we'd all be speaking perfect German today. This isn't rocket science guys. For example, you click on the lastest issue and nothing happens. And if an older issue does open, it's just a .pdf in really tiny font that our old, retired eyes can't read. Sure, you can use two fingers to zoom in, but then can't read the rest of the article without scrolling left and right, up and down. Whoever is responsible for this should be reassigned to permanent police call around some random parking lot. Maybe then the government will get its money's worth.

Typical Army Website

App doesn’t work, only displays newsletters from 2 years ago. Why are all military websites over complicated and unintuitive? I only use when absolutely necessary and it is always frustrating, never easy.

No updates in a year

US Army wants to claim how important its Retired members are, yet they haven’t updated this in a year. Cannot get new editions without an update.

App doesn’t work

The Retired Echoes app doesn’t work. It will not load, appears to be old information, over a year since last document loaded onto app.

Typical army mediocrity

What a joke! Latest issue of 2020? Someone got a bonus or a medal for this I’m sure.

Newsletter Access

Newsletter will not download ,have tried it multiple times.

Does not work

App will open but cannot download or read any of the newsletters. Further, can’t reach the link to the RSO site either that is offered as an alternative.

App Doesn’t Work.

Unable to fully download or open posted documents. I’ve deleted the app.

Still not opening non-archived issues???

The app fails to access/open the Echoes file after downloading on my iPad..ugh!!
However it does connect to an Army website where I can view archived back issues. So please ensure that all issues of Echoes get archived ASAP!!

App Freezes

App has stopped working on the latest iOS (11.4.1) running on an iPad mini-4. It freezes as soon as it begins to load.

Bad app

Shows nothing but army badge on iPhone and black screen on ipad, can’t find any way to send feedback. most hyperlinks are to closed sites. nothing downloads

Not Army quality.

I don’t want to download each quarter to read! Clutters my device with .pdf files. IMPROVEMENT: Make it readable on line‼️

U S Army Echoes

Does not work. The app loads and has all the editions of army echoes listed but the download button doesn’t work.

Articles will not download

Tried numerous times to open recent released articles, app just shows “loading”, very disappointing as I will retire in 30 days, after 30 yrs of service, and I am continually reminded how “technology” tied we are but still can’t get systems to work

Not worth the effort

Unable to download or open can not see the archives deleted it three time, rebooted both iPhone and iPad still will not download or open previous document TRADOC OBVIOUSLY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT RETIRE PERSONNEL!

Works just fine

Opened the app and was presented current and back issues of Echoes. Hit download on the current one, then Open to open it in iBooks or whatever. No problem!

Still won't open

I have deleted and reinstalled this app multiple times over the past several years and it still won't open a downloaded issue Saturday as of APRIL 2018. TRADOC should be mortified that they can't produce a functional product. certainly hope this monstrosity is not reflective of how well they train new troops. As a retired Army field grade officer, I am embarrassed to have the Army logo associated with it.
