Good enough

This app was very helpful as I couldn’t hire an audio guide due to the lack of a physical ID at the gallery. The audio description of the main pieces was great for a visit with limited time (around 2 hours). However, the internet reception inside is not good, so I recommend downloading it beforehand. If you have to download it from inside the gallery, go to level 2 straight away as the internet reception is best up there. No wifi available.

Not useful

Missing audio segments. Difficult to navigate. Descriptions often too brief.

Needs up to date locations

Good info, informative, but rooms and painting locations are not current. Makes it very frustrating to use.

Serious flaws, incomplete

The audio guide available in the museum has many more entries than the app. Using the app you are missing out on much of the available content.
You can’t listen while on another app. Switching to the camera stops audio and switching back to the app causes it to relaunch, losing your placement within the app.

Great for first time through

Not too many entries, but enough to give you a really good feel. Perfect amount for the whole family.

Don’t bother

If you don’t pay the $1.99 there is little available. If you pay then there is 25 paintings that are narrated. Given the size of the Uffizi, 25 is such a small number! Also, you have to wait for each to download while you w sit in front of the art. With no public wifi, that was pretty frustrating.

I’m going try the one they rent out there next time.

Just about ok

The museum is undergoing quite a few changes and renovations which are not reflected in this guide, so it is out of date. I was surprised to stumble upon Rembrandt’s most famous work in a room completely unmentioned in the guide. Commentaries are also a bit bland… no interesting stories to bring these works to life.

Awesome app for a visit of Uffizi gallery

You get a detailed description and explanation for around forty paintings in the Uffizi gallery.

Really easy to use, interesting details about the paintings, good map to accompany during the walk, high-resolution pictures included if there are too many people in front of the painting.

Price is justified for the amount of content that you get. You can check with the free preview if you like the content.

Thanks a lot for making the visit to Uffizi a good experience.

Little Gem

Highly rated this little app - informative, well organised, easy to use.

Has a great little map to guide you. Information very informative without being overly long or too academic and dry.

Good alternative to the official Audioguide

Overall a good user experience. The App is intuitive and performant. Texts are well written and well translated.

Only critique: The AI reading the texts sounds mechanical. I think there are solutions available to bring this to the next level.

Great app

Use this instead of buying the audio guide at Uffizi. It’s free and very organised and interesting.

excellent, well worth it

today spent the afternoon at the Uffizi, used the app, perfect !!!!! camera ids the artwork and tells you all about it, I used the audio too every time. Incredible value.

Response from developer

We are very proud about your feedback. Usually people who write a review have negative experience to tell. It’ s rare that a user spent time to give a positive feedback, so thank you so much for your message

Covers the famous paintings

This app only covers the most famous paintings in the gallery which sun up to around 30-40 items. It does have a better narration than the museum writings though

NOT a replacement for the audio guide

good information for a very limited set of works. far more works are covered by the museums audioguide. i skipped getting the audioguide because i thought the app would be sufficient, much regret now.

Response from developer

We respect all feedback as an opportunity to learn something but we not agree your verdict. Our app has 40 artworks and about 3 hours of audio, we think that is enough for a standard tour and in any case it shouldn’t be considered limited. The traditional audioguide doesn’t cover all artworks (it’s a no sense, nobody will need it), has about 20 more artworks and about 5 less artworks. But the price is 3 times and the usability and features are not comparable at all. So we think that should be considered all pros and cons

Excellent

Really good. Interactive, intuitive, easy to find the relevant content. Do not get an audio guide, get this instead!
