Excited but Dissapointed

I downloaded this app earlier after finding out that I qualified for it through my healthcare plan. I was excited to start using it to pay for a Apple Watch using their Walk it Back program but after ordering my watch the app will not link to my Health app on my Iphone so I can not begin using it to see how it works while I wait for my new watch to be delivered. I am hoping that some of the reviews I have read are not true but so far I am skeptical. Please fix the linking issues as I followed the videos and my health app is showing that all permissions are granted to the Motion app. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and have turned my phone on and off again. I am looking forward to using this perk if it can work properly. I gave 3 stars because the ordering of the watches worked seamlessly but the rest of what I have seen of the app does not work.

Update in previous

Thank you for updating for the Apple Watch 9 my syncing is finally working again! Thank you to the motion team for responding quickly and trying to get it to work it clearly needed this update. Let’s hope it continues to work great!

This app works great when it does but it never lasts, some days you get it to sync no problem then come another day and won’t sync for hours or days for some. It especially doesn't work if you change to a different tracker. Please get it to work right once and for all! Follow-up: spoke to UHC motion customer service, they could not figure out why I couldn’t sync after over an hour on the phone. They sent my issue to their resolution dept, which I honestly don’t think it will help. I’m having the same issues as a lot of people on here, won’t sync on demand only syncs if I sign out and sign in sometimes, other times I have to sign out and uninstall the app and reinstall the it might sync. So frustrating, I have the Apple Watch 9 series. Also, my intensity will come through after a 30 min workout but nothing else until I do the steps mentioned above. Please please app de developers fix this.

Eh

So, since I’m getting money for wearing a watch I was going to wear, I’m only slightly annoyed. I walk 30 miles a week at work, within 5 days. It tracks my steps just fine, but it will only every blue moon track that I’ve hit the 500 steps in an hour goal. I started with a different phone that it always tracked perfectly. Same job, same steps. Switched phones and now it almost never tracks anything but the amount of steps I’ve walked daily. it takes 15-30 minutes for me to get it sync, even if I’m syncing ut daily. Again, wasn’t an issue with my older cell phone. I’ve had the same watch the entire time. I’ve tried to delete and reinstall both Watch and phone, close out of it fully both watch and phone, it never fixes it. So if you just really ignore it and go hey, it’s free money so I’m just not going to over stress it, you’ll be fine. Also, I walk 30 miles a week. I work 10-12 hour days. I never hit my intensity because I'm not working out after having a workout from being at work all day.

Notice all the complaints about the same glitches. Notice how far back they go. All one star reviews. I have the exact same things happening: frequency ring closes on watch after duplicating or triplicating walks. Slow syncing. And, my recent issue: the app just closes and is frozen on 5 frequency walks. I’m tired of emailing and calling support about these problems. They don’t respond to emails, and when calling, they tell me the frequency ring problem is a “known issue.” Now that I read the reviews and see how long these things have been issues it’s really disheartening. I pay thousands of dollars in insurance premiums, and have had to pay a few more thousand in medical bills. I’m trying to get over a thousand “back” this year and the developers of this app are making it really difficult with all the unfixed long term glitches that they know about. Come on, just fix these things and stop putting automatic replies on reviews asking people to email you and refer to the review. I’ve done that with no reply. It is really sad and pitiful that I continue using this app in hopes to save some money. This is what my healthcare has come to.

Doesn’t work most of the time

Is this app meant for Apple products? The app on the phone doesn’t show any progress or where you stand, it only shows if it’s completed. The “steps” is the only thing that consistently works. EVERY TIME I open the app on the watch it automatically gives me all 6 of the frequencies at once and shows it completed on the watch, but it won’t transfer over to the phone app to give me any credit because it logs all 6 frequencies at once. The only way to get intensity is legit jogging for 30 minutes. The most frustrating thing is working a 12 hour shift and logging over 19,000 steps and literally not stopped moving for 12 hours, but not getting credit for the 6 frequencies because the app is buggy.
Likely a “feature not a bug situation” since it’s costs me $28 a month in lost benefits, yet they still get to harvest my data. I doubt I’ll be keeping it much longer.

FAQ

What does the UHC Motion app do?

The UHC Motion app encourages users to adopt a healthier lifestyle by setting three daily walking goals. It provides financial rewards for achieving these goals, focusing on the frequency, intensity, and tenacity of movement throughout the day. The app aims to incentivize users to move more often and reduce sedentary time.

How do I earn rewards with UHC Motion?

You earn rewards by achieving the daily walking goals set by the app, which are designed around Frequency, Intensity, and Tenacity (FIT). You can earn for one, two, or all three goals each day. The earned rewards can be deposited quarterly into your Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) or Health Savings Account (HSA), as applicable.

Is UHC Motion free to use?

The UHC Motion app is provided as part of a wellness program offered by UnitedHealthcare to employers. Eligibility is typically tied to your employer's health plan. If you are eligible, the app itself is free to use, and the rewards earned can be used for out-of-pocket medical expenses.

What kind of data does the app use?

With your permission, the UHC Motion app reads data from your device's Health App that is specific to your workout or exercise activities for the day. This data is used to help the app track your progress towards your health and wellness goals and provide additional options for achieving them.

Who is eligible to use UHC Motion?

Eligibility for the UHC Motion app is determined by your employer, as it is a wellness program offered through UnitedHealthcare. It may be included with your health plan. You should confirm your eligibility by checking with your company's HR representative.
