Does nothing but take pictures

You are left to figure out carbs and stats of the food

Best app by far

I've tried many different apps and none of them were very simple to use or charged exorbitant amounts of money. This is my new favorite app. It does everything perfectly. It'd be nice if it had a daily count of carbs and insulin used or send that information to apple health for tracking. It'd be nice to know but I can recommend this app enough.

This app is a life changer!! This is the EASIEST app to use!

This app is a life changer!! This is the EASIEST app to use! No more cumbersome logging of data. Everything is so quick and easy. All of the results and analysis are right there in simple to read, color coded indicators to show your success, orLack of it. It is so easy that, unlike every other app I have used over the past 7 years, I have not quit logging because it just takes too much time. In fact, as I look at the daily/weekly analysis, I find myself deciding to log more often, which ensures I have a better picture of habits resulting in a better tool to manage my diabetes. In the short time I’ve used this app, I no longer wonder if I took that last shot and righter watch my sugars rise from skipping or watching them plummet when I accidentally double take a shot.

This app has been a critical tool to know exactly when I take insulin and to change my life from living from high crisis to low crisis … to having my sugars inside the target range most of the week. Using meal time analytics inside this tool i have gone from 32 units of insulin the times a day with meals … to 3 mealtime insulin shots this week. Did I mention I lost 5 lbs this week? For the first time in 10 years, I am living with diabetes instead of unable to get out of bed due to so many diabetic crisis!! I was regularly 350-450 blood sugars. Now I maintain a range of 135-165. All this success drives me to do even better day after day instead of … frankly … just haven given up.

So LETS TALK ABOUT THIS WONDERFUL APP:

This app allows you to take a quick picture when you sit down to eat and enter a few quick tags and/or description of the meal. Save it. Eat before it gets cold. Not convenient to log? Use ur camera and take a picture anyway. Later, when u log it an insert the photo into the app, it must pull the time stamp from the camera and load the meal time for you. No longer guess on meal times or what u ate! Glorious and I generous!!

Quickly add insulin doses. Only disadvantage is you cannot load the type of insulin. So I always take the same dose of long term insulin and ensure that I never take that exact same dosage of short term. I even load my weekly shot, Mounjaro, which is a completely diff dose. That way, I can always tell at a glance what I take and when.

Sync your CGM, I use Dexcom G6, to the app and it magically loads each and every reading into the same app.

So what is the end result? Quickly and effortlessly load every shot, meal, glucose reading into the same app. View everything stacked on each other and how they interact in a quick instant!! SHAZAM!! See how each meal affected your sugars, what insulin dosage you took and if it was enough or too
Much. A quick color coded indicator shows what percentage of time you stayed inside your target range over the 2 hr period following each meal.

GREEN: 70-100% of the next 2 hrs stayed inside your target range
YELLOW: maybe 50-70% stayed in range
RED: you were out of range most of the next 2 hrs.

All the while, there is a trail from the CGM in the background so you know if you were slightly out of range or blew it!! Instantly understand what diet/insulin regime works and why. No more guessing!

In essence: save a life… get this app!! It’s time to live your life and not obsess over a disease!

Response from developer

Thank you for the very warm words! We really would be happy to have more of your feedback and thoughts, please reach out to us at contact@undermyfork.com. As for type of insulin: we do understand the request, and this task in our task list, but as we are a small team and have limited resources, it might take some time to get it done.

How does this connect to my libre cgm?

I got this because they said it connects to libre cgm. It allows the selection but doesn’t appear to connect or read any data?

Difficult to figure out

How do I figure out the number of carbs. How do I not lantus injections vs humolog injections. How do I create a complete picture for me and my medical team to be able to follow

Length of history

Hi,

My son is type-1 and we’re beginning to experiment with undermyfork. I can’t figure out how to have a useful history (both meals AND glucose history for on Dexcom longer than 30 days.) This app would be particularly useful to us for meals we eat infrequently which we may have last eaten months ago.

Simple meal and dosage analysis

I was looking for a way to simplify my recording of meals and my bodies response to insulin dosage. This app does that. Tech support is very receptive to improvements. I like the most recent version. My only wish would be to see the screen from a landscape mode to see more blood sugar history. That would give me some insight into basal insulin analysis too. Thank you.

Нет глюкометра

В App Store в списке есть OneTouch Select Plus flex, а в приложении нет именно его.

Good, but sie UI Problems

I really like this app; however, when I am entering the time, carbs, and other info I can only see some of the numbers (I tried to put the time at 12:33 and I saw 9,10,11, but then I saw a blank spot and then 1 so I just guessed highlighted the white spot in between (same with minutes) and got it pretty close, but this seems like kind of a bad problem if you can’t see what you are entering. I also wanted to set this up with my Dexcom G6 but there aren’t any instructions on how to do so, so I’m just entering the number from G6 app. I do really love the food photo feature, because sometimes I really have a hard time remembering what I ate and it takes away the pain of writing it down.

Hi! Thank you for your feedback. We located the problem with your numbers not displaying correctly while typing, it will be fixed in the next update. To enable auto-syncing from your Dexcom, please open Health app — tap Browse — go to ‘Blood glucose’ (you may find it via the search field) — Scroll down to ‘Data Sources & Access’ — allow Dexcom app to write data and Undermyfork app to read data.

Recent T1D!

I was recently diagnosed T1D and I’ve been struggling to keep track of what I’m eating (I’m 21 and a nanny so my life is very hectic). This has really helped me as I can just snap a photo and mark down the carbs and everything later. I just really wish I could make note of correction injections and make notes when I am just recording my bg and not just when I’m
recording a meal. But otherwise this app is amazing!

Thank you for the warm words! In the latest app update (version 2.1.15) we’ve added the insulin logging feature — you can enable it on the app menu.

Great tool for T1D!

Love using this with Dexcom data integrated to look back and make dosing decisions for similar meals. Great app!

Great idea, runs smooth

I’m a big fan so far of this app. It does exactly what’s advertised without being overly complicated and runs very smoothly. A few suggestions that I think could improve it further: currently, it tells you how much time you were “in range” after a meal, but if you start a meal out of range, it counts that as out of range time. I think adding the option of using “change in blood sugar” would be another good metric to look at to help think about what foods work or not. It could either be a difference between the start and finish BGs or calculate an area under the curve from start to finish. Also, being able to change the end time from 2 hours to different times such as 3 or 4 hours as well would give a better picture for lower carb and high protein meals. Thank you so much for creating this!

I love this app!

I love this app more and more virtually every time I use it. It seems like a person to me and like one that is very empathetic. I like how I’m getting information back about what is working and not working with my diabetes…

Awesome tool for cgm users

This is an awesome tool for cgm users to quickly capture meals, see the glucose impact, and find time-in-range patterns. Longer review at diatribe.org/BrightSpotsLab

Great app for tracking meals with glucose

I take pics of everything I eat and see the glycemic load of different food in my body. Really insightful! Auto syncs glucose with my One Touch app.
