Cant reset password, cant update email, confusing ux

Upon entering my account number and email to reset password i get prompted with something went wrong upon attempting 100 times, frustrating and annoying

Disorganised and confused set up

They were not meant to take money from my account, they didn’t switch me over because my energy provider refused. Yet they charged me. I kept the sim but the bill was higher than promised so I don’t know where this amount came from. What a mess, I never should’ve switched

Poor

Very poor website and very poor connectivity to customer services

Viewing account bills.

I’m learning the ropes.
Thanks

Does everything in style

All my utilities on 1 app. Used to be so frustrating in the past with tons of apps and bills to sort. Pure Genius! And cashback is king with this. See all the best places to MAX your cashback card

Transfer failures

Had great difficulty topping up via the banking apps today despite uninstalling and then reinstalling both UW and the banking apps. Eventually managed with a card.

Cannot login since app refresh

I’ve reset my password multiple times, and I have the latest version of the app, but I still can’t log in. There are also no validation error messages, it just simply resets the form and asks you to log in again.

Great way to get a reduction on my bills

I’ve been using the cashback card for a while now and I get between 10 and 20 pounds reduction in my overall bill every month. Brilliant.

Updated app

I would like to add a review but i also want to open the app but it won’t let me open it until I update to the latest version. The app won’t update so I am unable to open the app to find the information I want.

Internet change over

Aaron did a brilliant job setting up my Internet he was hard-working and friendly. You must’ve sent me one of your Best engineers so thank you.

Getting to know the Top up

I’ve made one faux pas after another. Mainly due to poor signals, but I have learnt through this. The more I get to know the UW account, the more I am enjoying all the points I’m collecting, to reduce my utility accounts. In the present climate of the costly electricity etc, I am so glad I joined UW!

Feels more like a cheap arcade game.

The latest update (April 26) makes the app feel more like a kids’ game than a utility tool. This starts with the icon and continues throughout the overall look and feel once you open it. It lacks the seriousness and clarity expected from a functional energy app.

Rather than focusing on playful or overly stylised design elements, the priority should be usability and access to meaningful data. Key information such as live consumption, today’s usage, month-to-date figures, and year-on-year comparisons should be front and centre.

All of this data is already available via smart meters, so integrating it properly into the app would significantly improve the user experience. It would also remove the need for users to rely on third-party apps through DCC access just to get basic insights.

At the moment, the design direction feels misaligned with what users actually need: clear, reliable, and easily accessible energy data.

App not working

Trying to submit readings and one of my meters/supplies is just not acknowledged, impossible to find contact info, when you do none of the options are functioning, freezing on some pages. This used to be a great app for managing your account. Upgrade now seems to be making it unstable

Ok in parts

I hate the app icon. Not very grown up is it?
The rest of the format seems ok.

Awful new look

The new look door but that’s awful font your using was it designed by kindergarten students? Come on UW you can do better than that, also when I got the email about how you going to have a new look why don’t you introduce on the energy side to how much a customer is using and have a detailed breakdown, any other tariffs that you can safe money my transfer to another tariff.

Update

The new update is abysmal. What was previously a good and simple design, that made it easy to navigate, is now a chocked up over glorified nothing burger. Whoever approved this design is an idiot.

New layout sucks

The app used to work perfectly fine, which makes this update feel completely unnecessary—and somehow worse in almost every way. The new design is clunky, less intuitive, and a clear downgrade from what was there before.

Removing dark mode is especially baffling. It’s a basic feature that many people rely on, and taking it away feels like a step backwards for no good reason.

This feels like change for the sake of it, not improvement. If the goal was to make the app harder to use and less appealing, then job done. Otherwise, it might be worth revisiting what actually worked before—and bringing it back!

UW Cashback card

Very easy to use and get money back off my utility bill

Bank Transfer fails

Despite funds being available the top up facility for bank transfers constantly fails.

Need extra testing

When moving money from debit card to UW it was unclear what to do next. Had to guess…!
