About
Vaalbara: The Last Oasis is a strategy battle game with a living orchestral score — and a basic Intro to Music Theory classroom built into the app.
THE HOOK
Most games play music in the background. In Vaalbara, the soundtrack is part of the fight: warriors join the orchestra as they enter battle. Eagles sing harmony. Bees hum drones. Fire Ants bite in sixteenth notes. The rock drummer of minutes 4 and 5 drives the climax. You’re not just playing a game — you’re inside a composition in D minor.
INTRO TO MUSIC THEORY
Tap Teach me on the Home Screen and open the Conservatory of Vaalbara. Six short chapters teach general music theory using the game’s own score as the example set:
• Key Signature — tonic, scales, D minor, the leading tone
• Chord Progression — triads, Roman numerals, i–VI–iv–V, cadences
• Melody — motif, contour, Theme A engraved on a real staff (notes light up as they play)
• Harmony — intervals, voice leading; tap animated Eagle and Bee cards for guided listening
• Time Signature & Rhythm — measures, downbeats, note values, syncopation
• Percussion — the kit, backbeat, fills, half-time, and the suckout-and-slam
Every listening example is synthesized live by the same engine that powers the battle soundtrack. Five check-your-understanding questions close each chapter.
BATTLE & DUELS
Command prehistoric and animal factions across Basalt Fields and the Last Oasis. Deploy warriors, manage lanes, and feel the score intensify with the fight. Duels offer focused one-on-one matchups. Offline vs bot — play anywhere, no account required.
HEADPHONES RECOMMENDED
The score is the soul of the game. What you hear is what you learn.
