User reviews

Enjoying the app - it’s going to be great

So impressed after one run that I bought the lifetime license. If you like WorkOutDoors but find it a bit intense, thus might be a great compromise. Better than the native app but not as overwhelming as WOD.

Edit: I have run into a recent issue where it crashed and wouldn’t re-open. So far, a restart of my iPhone hasn’t fixed it so I’m actually a little concerned there’s more instability then I realized.

Response from developer

Hi! Thank you so much for the feedback! I’m actively working on resolving the issue and releasing the version with a hotfix. You can expect it in the next 2 days the latest. Thank you for the patience! Felix

Potential is high

Saw someone recommend this app today on a thread and as I was about to head for a run I figured I’d give it a go. First impressions are this design is actually pretty nice. I like the simplicity but also good options where you’d want them. I like to do interval runs and this app does that well.

However, it gets 3 stars due to some issues and bugs. First, I didn’t realize when I set off for my run that announcements for intervals isn’t available. Or if it is it isn’t clear how to enable it. Big time needs that added.

Second, the app doesn’t take advantage of the ultra buttons which is sorely missed.

Third, the app completely froze when I got home and finished my run. The run did go into Apple health but the app itself has no record of it. I force closed the app on my watch so at least it’ll open again but still no run showing in the history. Also even though I picked miles in the setup I still see areas where km are used.

Needs some polish I think but overall this app is really what I’m looking for but idk if I want to pay to unlock yet before my issues are fixed/added. Unfortunately I only have 7 days to use it so I’m likely never going to see if this app gets fixed to the point I’d buy it. Shame but good luck developer! I like what you’ve started.

Response from developer

Hi! Thank you for your honest review. As I’m a solo developer doing all the work with the app and in the early stage it is right now it’s quite difficult to handle everything properly. I know that dealbreaker bugs have been around, but I’m fixing them every day. It is my own interest as well, as I use the app as my mqin running companion too. I know losing one of your important workout is unaccaptable with an app like this, but critical bugs have been fixed in the last few days. Also, Ultra action button support has been added as well, and in today’s update, they are available. Sadly doing this alone means I have restricted capabilty of extensive testing. Although I’m constantly testing it with my 4 runs per week, sometimes bugs caused by edge cases happen. But that is why I appreciate my users so much for warning me about those, and every bug report gets my attention and they are fixed within a day continously. On the one hand I’m not happy for the review and your opinion, but on the other hand I’m glad you think it has potential. That is why if you’re still interested, I would be happy to give you a coupon code to try Vanoor once more and see if it fulfills your expectations on the long term.
