Not free guys

This app isn’t free guys, it lets you download it and fill out all of the info but then won’t let you use it without a subscription. Not even an option to just be able to watch ads.

Response from developer

Hi there! We are sorry about your disappointment. We completely understand that a subscription can feel like a barrier. When compared to the regular cost of vaping, the subscription is often a small fraction of what many people typically spend. Our goal is to provide long-term value by helping you quit for good. The VapeFree subscription helps us cover the ongoing development, maintenance, and continuous improvements of the app, as well as the tools and support we provide to help users quit vaping successfully. We appreciate your understanding and wish you the best of luck on your quitting journey!

Pet doesn’t work

The only reason I got this app was for the pet as I quit - despite getting more hearts every day, when I use them on the pet nothing happens. The number does not increase under the pet’s health.

Response from developer

Hello! We are sorry you came across technical issues. Please message our customer support directly from the VapeFree app, and we will help you further to resolve this issue. Thank you for your cooperation!

for $15?

you should be able to play music in background without it turning off everytime you open app. also it’s impossible to keep your turtle alive unless you’re not vaping at all, which seems strange for an app that suppose to help you quit slowly. honestly is working for me but i wish i would’ve chose a better app.

Response from developer

Hello! Thank you for your feedback — we really appreciate you sharing your experience with us. The turtle doesn’t heal automatically. You earn hearts by logging your vapes and staying within your daily limit, and those hearts can then be used to heal the turtle. The daily limit is personalized and gradually decreases over time based on your selected quit date, so the app is designed to support a step-by-step reduction rather than expecting you to quit all at once. Regarding the music stopping when opening the app, thanks for pointing that out. This isn’t intended behavior, and we’ll pass it along to our development team and fix the bug in the upcoming update. We’re glad to hear the app is helping you, and we truly appreciate your input.

too expensive

The app requires you to pay subscription fee fees that are incredibly expensive. I’m sure it works great if you can afford it, but it is way too expensive.

Can’t use with 0mg vape juice

I need to change the puff strength to 0mg as I’m down to juice without any nicotine. I input 0mg, added a puff, now the nicotine level has been reset to 0.1mg. This only happens after you change it to 0mg. I would like a refund as I cannot use the app.

Response from developer

Hi Courtney! Thank you for your feedback and for bringing this to our attention. We’re sorry for the inconvenience you experienced when setting the puff strength to 0 mg. The issue will be resolved in the upcoming app update so that the app properly supports 0 mg vape juice. We really appreciate you reporting this, as it helps us improve the app. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our support team. Thank you for your patience!

Costs $55

Looks like a great app but after you fill in all your info they tell you it’s subscription and you can pay $55 for a year, $100 for unlimited or $21 a week. Really wish they had a monthly option as that is what their quitting timeline works in.

Response from developer

Hello! Thank you for your constructive feedback and for treating VapeFree with 3 stars. We value your opinion and will consider adding a monthly subscription plan to the app in the upcoming update. You can easily upgrade from weekly to monthly if the plan becomes available in the future.

Vape Free = Not free at all

Way to waste everyone’s time! DONT bother with this app! The pricing is outrageous any money you would save by not vaping you’ll just spend on this terrible pricing! At least advertise your terrible app properly! Trashhhhh

Response from developer

Hi there! We’re sorry you feel this way. VapeFree is subscription-based to support ongoing development, and for many users it costs far less than long-term vaping expenses, which average around $1,000 per year (not including related healthcare costs). We appreciate the feedback and are continuously improving the app. We wish you the best on your quit journey.

lol not a free app

Thanks for actually not caring if people quit and being greedy af monthly sub just for you to message me notifications to “help me quit” so sick of downloading an app that I thought was free but is actually $70+ be so fr how does this help me save money from vaping hahaha when you are asking for just as much money in a subscription as a vape would cost 😂😂😂😂😂 in some cases your app costs more 😂. No way I’ll just ask my doctor to help … thanks for LITERALLY NOTHING. I also think it’s super hilarious that according to other users there are spelling mistakes and the pet function is a joke… yet you want me to pay AS MUCH AS I PAID FOR Balders Gate 3…. For this …. For a broken phone app …. You should be ashamed though I doubt you are….

Hello! We’re sorry this experience felt frustrating — quitting vaping is hard, and we understand your reaction. VapeFree is subscription-based to support ongoing development, and for many users it costs far less than vaping long term. Research shows the average person spends around $1,000 per year on vaping products, not including an estimated $2,000 in additional annual healthcare costs linked to vaping. We also regularly update the app to fix bugs and improve features based on user feedback. That said, we respect your choice, and getting help from a doctor is a great option. We wish you the best on your quit journey.

Stuck at 200 puffs

App works well, apart from when I originally set it up i set my daily puffs to 200, even when I reset my plan I cannot change this no matter what I try which makes it really difficult to accurately track my progress.

expensive af

i understand having a subscription but the pricing is outrageous

Response from developer

Hi there! We are sorry that the VapeFree subscription doesn't meet your budget. While vaping may seem less expensive in the short term, research shows that the average person spends around $1,000 per year on vaping products — and that doesn’t include an estimated $2,000 in additional annual healthcare costs linked to vaping. The VapeFree subscription costs only a fraction of that, and it’s designed to help people quit for good, which can save both money and health in the long run. We don’t use ads so we can keep the experience focused, distraction-free, and tailored to your quit journey. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best in reaching your goals.

not free

if i could give it zero i would. theres nothing worse than when an app says its “free” and then continues to let you fill out all the information and then wants to charge you 50 to use the app. 👎

Response from developer

Hello there! We’re sorry to hear you feel this way. The app is free to download, so you can explore its features, but a subscription is required to unlock the full content. This allows us to keep improving the tools and support we provide to help people quit smoking for good. We hope you’ll consider giving VapeFree another chance to support you on your quit journey.

Have to pay

You can only use the app if you pay for a subscription

Response from developer

Hello! We're sorry for not meeting your expectations. VapeFree offers a subscription so we can provide a high-quality app with continuous improvements and helpful features to support your quit journey. We understand that subscriptions aren’t for everyone, but we hope you’ll consider giving VapeFree another try. We’d love to help you quit vaping for good!

Costs money

Looks like a great app but too expensive

waste of time

you cant have “free” in the name of the app and then expect me to pay TWO HUNDRED RAND A WEEK

Everything is always paid

It’s kinda disgusting imo that you can’t even access the app without a subscription. Like I might as well just continue being a smoker lol! It’ll save my money to not purchase vapes, but I still pay a monthly amount for an app? 😭😂 it’s ridiculous

Response from developer

Hi there! We understand you can feel frustrated being asked to pay for an app when you’re trying to save money by quitting. But here’s the thing: the average vaper spends far more than the cost of the VapeFree subscription. Often over €100 per month on pods or disposables! With VapeFree, you invest a small fraction of that to finally break free for good. VapeFree is professionally developed and regularly maintained to provide reliable support. These costs help us keep the program effective, ad-free, and constantly improving. We hope you will give VapeFree another chance!

No Trial, Just Pay Right Away

Won’t even let you have a free trial to see if you like the app or if it works for you. After answering all questions, you’re taken to the payment screen - £52 lifetime, £23 monthly or £11 weekly. It’s cute and it seems like something you’d want to come back to check progress, but if they won’t even give you the 3 day or 7 day free trial like most of the apps, then what’s the point of paying £11 for something i don’t even know will work. I would be willing to pay if i knew the app is working at least.

Helpful for keeping track. Staying motivated.

I downloaded this app to keep track of my vape use and to reduce daily to quit. That’s exactly what it does. Added pet helps with motivation. To make it more useful they need to add the ability to adjust a previous day. Reading other users stories is very helpful!

Response from developer

Hi there! Thank you for treating the VapeFree app with a 3-star review. We appreciate your constructive feedback and will work on new features and improvements in the upcoming updates. Stay tuned!

Works for me

Been cutting back without the crazy withdrawals. Finally an app doesn’t make me feel guilty…

Response from developer

Hello John! Thank you for rating VapeFree with 5 stars! We are pleased you are progressing well on your quitting journey. Keep it up!

You need to pay for everything

22,90 A WEEK? Yeah, no.

Response from developer

Hello! Thank you for your feedback. We understand that pricing may not fit everyone’s budget, and we hope you find a solution that better meets your needs for quitting vaping. If you ever decide to give VapeFree another try, you’re always welcome back!

No free plan

Hypes you up with all this emotional stuff then smacks you with a fee to even use the app. There’s no free plan so if you are low income, this app doesn’t care about your health. Apparently only wealthy people deserve to try and quit. Uninstalling and warning others.

Response from developer

Hello there! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We understand your concerns and appreciate your feedback. While the app requires a subscription to access all features, this helps us provide ongoing support and develop tools to help users quit successfully. We’re always exploring ways to make quitting accessible for everyone and will keep your input in mind.
