AI Garbage
Tried this out since HappyCow sold out. This app copies the UI of HappyCow identically, but forcibly generates poor quality AI images instead of just pulling photos from online or simply not having photos included. I did not download a vegan-centered app to support AI image generation, which is maybe the least vegan thing a company can do in current year. Save your data and wait for another alternative.

I use this app regularly and it’s a great resource. It desperately needs to incorporate an option to save and bookmark restaurants!

App has many missing features, some making it useless.
Can’t view menus or see even find a link to restaurant’s web page.
Unable to hide chains, leaves the app cluttered with redundant places to go.
Most local places are missing and I’ve already done the work to get them into happy cow which works better.
No way to contact restaurants either.

Unfortunately I would love to promote vegan resources but I can’t agree with ones that have “Israeli” as one the categories under your map search. You don’t even have a coffee shop category and you’re promoting a genocidal system. Pretty disgusting and I can’t support it.
AI Everywhere
It's bizarre to me that an app for vegans, who care about the environment, is pointlessly riddled with AI images. All the businesses on this app have websites with images they could have used instead. Really disappointing to see AI in vegan spaces.

Where are the menus? There are two vegan restaurants in my neighborhood that aren’t even listed.

This app has helped me find countless restaurants in the 2 months I have had it ! I used to be hungry never knowing where to eat or just choosing the 1 vegan option on any restaurant menu … NOW I HAVE A LIST OF MUST TRY PLACES ! The must try turned to obsessed with each restaurant I chose! I should mention, hitting the 100% vegan button when searching for restaurants is lovely !

Appreciate this app, but happycow.net has a great catalogue of vegan and vegan friendly dining establishments with reviews and pictures from real people that go years back. They have a website and app that folks who are vegan have been familiar with for a long time. Also, if you have travel coming up, you can search for dieting options in your destination city on happycow.net. I tried doing a search for Paris, France in this app, and nothing comes up. If I search for apparel in Washington DC, the first establishment in the list is in New York and the second is in Las Vegas? Maybe the app is just new and needs to capture more establishments?

I don’t know who thought it would be useful to hallucinate gross fake photos of the food?? Just show nothing.
Besides that, it doesn’t even indicate what vegan options a place has. I’m skeptical this is accurate. Not sure why I ought to trust it.

Literally trying to add a few places, and you all ghost your suggestion’s. Would be a great app if they did their homework and added long term established vegan restaurants. Sigh

Thanks to Vegan Friendly I’m finding the coolest vegan shops and restaurants that I’ve never even heard of after living my whole life here. Vegan clothing stores, vegan beauty stores, Vegan hotels! Vegan tours and vegan wines. Vegan everything for free plus no ads! Best app ever
