About
How fast does a 70 mph pitch feel from 42 feet away? Try 101 mph. We're not just guessing: VELOREACT does the math and shows you the proof.
You already know that you can move a pitching machine to shorten a hitter's reaction window, VELOREACT tells you exactly how short a window becomes. Enter a pitching speed and distance from the hitter, and you get the reaction-time equivalent: the velocity a pitch would need from the regulation 60'6" mound to arrive in the same time.
You do not need a pitcher who throws 100 mph to train against 100 mph.
ONE SCREEN, ONE ANSWER
Set the speed. Drag the release marker anywhere from the rubber at 60'6" in to 10 feet. The equivalent velocity, the flight time, and the pressure band move as you drag. Nothing scrolls. Nothing to configure.
RACE IT
Your pitch, and its equivalent twin, launch from different distances and land at the same instant. This is the fastest way to show a player what equivalence means without giving a lecture.
WORK BACKWARDS
Name the speed you want to train against and the app solves the setup. "My machine throws 70 and I want it to feel like 95". Answer: set it at 44.6 feet. Fixed distance instead? It gives you the machine speed.
A CHART FOR THE CLIPBOARD
The app gives you the full speed-by-distance grid, with pinned headers and every cell tappable. See graphs for equivalent velocity and reaction time. Finally, get a landscape PDF built to print" 20 to 90 mph against 20 feet to the rubber, with alternate rows shaded so you can track one speed straight across the page.
INTUITIVE BREAKDOWN
The app answers why training the reaction window beats chasing radar-gun numbers. The hitter's decision chain, which shows that ball-flight time, is not decision time. We put 409 milliseconds in terms anyone gets: less than half a second, about a blink.
EASY TO USE
No account. No sign-up. Nothing to connect and nothing to collect: no analytics, no ads, no tracking, no identifiers. Your settings stay on your device. No pitch log, no history, no database: VELOREACT is a calculator, not a record keeper.
THE PART THAT MATTERS MOST
Shortening the pitching distance shortens everyone's reaction time, not just the hitter's. Be sure to use a protective screen; keep an adult running every session; match the distance to the hitter in front of you; and back up the moment they cannot track the ball. The app only knows a speed and a distance, not your machine, your field, or who else is standing nearby.
HOW THE MATH WORKS
Flight time is distance divided by speed, in a straight line, with constant velocity. It ignores drag, movement, extension and biomechanics, and the fact that a real baseball loses roughly ten percent of its speed on the way to the plate. Treat the equivalent as a training comparison, not a measurement of how fast the ball is going, and never as a medical or injury-risk assessment. The Learn tab explains all of it.
