Needs work
I like this app a lot, don't let the 3 stars fool you. The descriptions and pairing suggestions are very good, the interface is clean and modern, and the database is really thorough. Unfortunately, until some additional features are implemented, I'll have to stick with Fromage, with all its faults. First, as another reviewer suggested, there has to be a rating function, in addition to favorite/not favorite. Also, a way to attach tasting notes, both of which Fromage implements well. Likewise, I'd like to be able to add my own entries, since no database like this could ever be complete. Also, a shopping list to queue up cheeses I hear/read about.
Finally, the 'share' function doesn't seem to work, the sorting of the cheeses in each section does not appear to follow any order at all, and, oddly for a cheese shop in San Diego, there are no Mexican cheeses, nor any from Latin America except Ecuador.
As it is not promoted on their website, it looks like development has ended.

Great start
This app is a pretty cool primer. Even living part time in France I often tip open my handy cheese book when shopping. It's nice to have a lot of this info right on my phone. Oh and to the person who complained about having to create an account to save their favorite cheese, well duhhhh, how else could they attach your favorites to YOU!

So not only is the navigation horrible, but then you have to provide email address ... just to create favorites? Really? Anywhere for notes! No! Really? Delete!!!
Nice app, could use more functionality
I'm psyched to have an app to track my favorite cheeses! It works well, but could use a bit more functionality. I'd love to be able to rate and review the cheeses I try, instead of just marking them as favorites. Not everything I try is a favorite, and I'd like to track even the cheeses I didn't like as much. It would be awesome if the app could get to the point of recommending cheeses based on my ratings (like Vivino does for wines). I'd love to be able to search for cheeses by type (cheddar, blue, etc.) and by features (smoked) in addition to region and milk source. It would be cool, too, if the app could interact with my list of cheeses I've bought that's maintained on the store's POS system. But overall, good job!
