So many more issues

Since the gizmo app is no longer being supported, I’ve had so many more issues. My teenage son can no longer communicate with his brother. The app doesn’t allow him to create an account. What’s the point of a family app if all family members (regardless of age) can’t use it.

-5 STARS

Ever since Verizon did away w/ the gizmo app & forced customers to use their family app instead - we have had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS!!!!! Their stupid app keeps kicking guardians out & o my allows for 1 to be logged in at a time. HELLO!! More than 1 guardian may need to be in contact w/ the child at a time!! BS!! Tired of paying for services that stop working!!! Never had any issues w/ the gizmo app whatsoever!! Vzn Fam app issues is keeping us from being able to contact our child when and how we need to! SO FRUSTRATING!!!!

Terrible app

Doesn’t work. Constantly get locked out. Constantly reset security question. Doesn’t work. May be time to dump the gizmo

This app is simply not good

This app seems so far behind on basic stuff. It’s not a good app

Sucks!

This app sucks! We have a split home and all of our children have gizmo watches. Before this “big update” the gizmo app worked just fine. Now, it has my household mixed up with my ex-wife’s household and it’s been a pain trying to get this figured out.
Yes, I have contacted Verizon, and they are also confused on this new app.

Good idea, poor execution

I got this plan with my grandchild that my wife and I are raising. Being able to control who texts and calls him is really important as well as content control. That parts works well. What doesn’t work well is the locator. It usually shows his location as an estimate and not actual. This is unacceptable. The same thing with my wife’s location. We live in an area that is not heavily populated but it’s not extremely rural either. I’ve reached out to customer support about this but I can’t get a response. The message I got back said it’s been sent to the tech team. So if the locator isn’t a big deal then this paid for feature is good. But if the locator you’re paying for is a big deal then I’d suggest looking at something else

hostile design

I use this to text my young kid and know where they are. I will never use it to share my location with them, or anyone else. The app harasses me 5 times a day to turn on location services. If I turn off notifications, I cannot receive texts from my child. I'm about to quit verizon completely. They have no coverage anymore anyway.

Gizmo was better

We are having a lot of issues with this app. Try to log in and it does t recognize my number and always logs us out. Not sure why they had to retire Gizmo. Had no issues with that app.

Very much dislike-bring back Gizmo app

I really do not like anything about this app. I don’t get alerts or banners even though I have it all checked. I can’t properly use the location services for the Gizmo watches. The whole point of this app is to keep track of our family, how can I do that when this app just sucks, in my opinion. Bring back the Gizmo app, that was user friendly and easy to navigate and communicate with my children. I continuously miss notifications from my children because the app doesn’t alert me. And yes I have all notifications turned on. I did not have this problem with the Gizmo app. So what the heck am I paying all this money for on these watches to communicate with my kids and keep them safe if the stupid app doesn’t do its job?

Terrible

Whoever is in charge of this app should be fired. Notifications don’t work. But I do get 100 notifications for taking on and putting off the gizmo watch when it’s just on his wrist. Figure it out! Terrible app

Frustrating for families

Annoying to sign, too much privacy violated, frustrating to use. Let us have control over our family chats without stupid nonsense like this

This app is terrible, bring back Gizmo!

This app is terrible, bring back Gizmo!

Spam

Somehow even worse than the gizmo app and now forced to use it for kids watches. Vzw never ceases to find ways to spam you with ads and notifications.

Wish I could tell it to stop asking to enable location

I don’t want to share my local through this app, I share through Apple. Plus I don’t want to share my location with my kids. I have it only because my kids have gizmo watches

Gizmo Location Rarely Works

Since the switch to Verizon Family from the Gizmo app I have been so frustrated with the terrible location tracking. With the Gizmo app, location was always GPS driven and I could see my child easily while they were away from home. With the new Verizon Family app something seems to clearly have changed, as ~75% of the time the location pings as a nearby cell tower. Since we live in a city, that is a world away and doesn’t help at all. We just got the Gizmo watch right before this change and it feels like a waste of money now.

App

This app is not as user friendly as the gizmo app.

2nd review left - awful app

Messages are not sending. I have it close and reopen the the app several times to send messages to my daughter’s gizmo watch. This app is a joke. And I am tired of the notification pop ups on whether or not I want it to keep tracking me daughter. Why keep asking??!?!!!!?!! We NEVER had these issues with the gizmo. We’ve had had gizmos for four years, and we have had more issues in this one month of this new app than we ever had with the old one!!!

Issues with Gizmo Watch and App

The movement from the Gizmo Hub App to Verizon Family has caused a lot of frustration. I originally purchased the Gizmo watch from Verizon in May. The sales person on the phone explained the Gizmo Hub app, and my two biggest questions were whether a person could be connected to more than one Gizmo watch, and if non Verizon subscribers could call, text, locate, and face call Gizmo watches. The Verizon rep told me that yes, I could be connected to more than one Gizmo watch, and that as long as family members downloaded the Gizmo Hub app and I made them Caregiver status they would be able to call, text, locate, and face-call; even if they were from a different subscriber (like T-Mobile or AT&T). Once the transfer happened this was no longer the case, and the reasons that I purchased the watch no longer apply- which is super frustrating. You cannot join more than on Verizon Family, a non subscriber cannot text or face-call the watch because they are not able to utilize the Verizon app in the same way they were able to use the Gizmo Hub app. This is super disappointing, and unless Verizon remediates this issue the functionality of the watch is not what it was meant to be. When I call Verizon support I am left with no answers, or honestly contradictory answers. Someone was supposed to get back to me on Friday and never did. And then I left a message in customer support and I am also still waiting for a reply. What is most frustrating is how quickly this changed happened after I purchased the watch because I would have went with something else. I am really hoping that Verizon works on improving this app in order to ensure that Gizmo watch owners will have access to their watches in the same capacity that they previously did with the Gizmo Hub app. Until that happens, I would not recommend purchasing the Gizmo Hub watch.
