Ten Steps Backwards From Gizmo Hub

This app is awful compared to GizmoHub. Location tracking is bad, messages and calls are missed, the layout is nonsensical, and Verizon continues to suggest that all users share their location at all times - this should not be necessary.

Worst switch ever!

Worse user friendly app for switching over my kids gizmos! Not easy to use at all like the gizmo app is….. locations accuracy is awful. Bad choice

Verizon Family App and Gizmo watches l

Since forcing the switch from GizmoHub to Verizon family, my child’s aunt can no longer be connected to both of her nieces’ watches (separate families) On GizmoHub, she could text and track both kids from one dashboard . Now, because the app ties users to a single billing account, she is forced to pick one household or constantly log in and out of different emails.

Please update the app to allow “member” or “caregiver” profiles to join multiple family accounts simultaneously. This limitation completely breaks functionality for co-parents, grandparents, and extended family member who care for children across different households.

Additionally, forcing transition to the Verizon family app has locked out vital caregivers who do now have Verizon as their personal cell provider. Previously on GizmoHub, anyone could download the app and be a caregiver regardless of their carrier. Now, the new app setup restricts or blocks non-Verizon users from downloading or properly accessing the portal, meaning grandparents, aunts, or babysitters with T-Mobile or AT&T can no longer text or track the watch. Please bring back carrier—agnostic access for invited contacts.

Lastly, this change was made right after I purchased the watch, and all do the parts of the app that sold me on it no longer dj action that way! And then every time I have called for support someone has a different answer or no answer at all.

Absolutely ridiculous

This app has been nothing but trouble since we were forced to switch from Gizmo Hub to Verizon Family. My family, 2 phone lines and 2 gizmo’s were on a business plan with others. We had trouble setting up the app initially, but we were finally able to it set up for both phones to be guardians over the gizmos. Since then, we separated our 4 lines (2 phones and 2 gizmos) on to our own family plan. And after switching to our own plan, we have not been able to add one of our phones(my phone) to the family app. We have tried multiple times and have had no luck. It’s ridiculous. Fortunately, my husband is able to access it…..So at least one parent(phone) has access to gizmos and contact from our children and but I cannot check in on them or text them…and I can’t get the notifications in regards to my children and their activities. The whole point of having the gizmos, is so we can contact and keep an eye on our children. The gizmo hub was simple, but worked. It shouldn’t be this hard.

last update broke the app

The latest update completely broke this app that I have been using for many years. I log in, but it treats me like a brand new customer and forces me into a continuous setup loop to create a new account. Deleting the app and reinstalling it does not fix it. Please fix this app so I can use this subscription that I am paying for but can no longer use.

Terrible Bugs

Can’t switch from Gizmo app. All this time and it’s like they never tested even how to log on. Must be letting AI try to do all the programming

Piece of trash.

The app and service is the worst. Can’t activate a phone. Can’t get support locals stores not really a Verizon store so they can’t help must sick and tired of all this.

Not good for texting gizmo - unsafe

Not very helpful that the app will randomly sign you out and then take up to 10+ minutes to sign back in (waiting for code). If this is used to text my child with their gizmo how is this safe or ok??

So bad

This has made my kids watch annoying and unreliable all while collecting ridiculous amounts of data from my phone. I just want to talk to my kid. I don’t need you to evaluate my driving. Unreal. Time for a different watch!

Kick outs

This app keeps kicking me out when my son tries to communicate with me. It is harder and more complicated than the gizmo app with way too many complications for basic processes that were easy on the gizmo app. Needed to spemd 45 mins getting back to my computer to get a new log in and then back in touch with my son who was away from home trying to get in touch with his father. Not okay

Not a good updated app

This app does not feel user-friendly at all, seems more difficult to locate setting features than the old gizmo app. Does not give badge notifications despite settings, selecting that. So unless you happen to be on your phone when a banner notification comes through, there’s no way to see that you’ve received a message from a gizmo watch.

Bring back the Gizmo app

Nothing but issues since I was forced to move from the Gizmo Hub to this and right now I’m unable to toggle School Mode on and off. Stuck in ON. Thank goodness my kid is with me and not somewhere else. This is a massive safety issue.

Terrible app

This app is terrible. Never functions and signs me in with the wrong phone number

Co-parent needs Gizmowatch text and video access with being in the Family

Please restore the ability to give a parent or caregiver communication-only access to a child’s Gizmo Watch.

For example, I am the primary parent and manage my son’s Gizmo Watch. His father should be able to call, text, and video call our son without becoming part of my Verizon Family account, without seeing our son’s location, and without having any watch management permissions.

The previous GizmoHub experience supported families like ours much better. The current Verizon Family app limits non-household parents to voice calls only, which is a significant loss of functionality for co-parenting families.

The Worst

The absolute worst app I have ever used. Utterly dangerous. Will suddenly lock you out of the account without warning, and without reason, making it impossible to communicate with your child. If you are a parent with a child with special needs, it completely defeats the purpose the device to begin with. Completely disappointed. My daughter would be safer with an Apple Watch than with this.

Awful

Please open Gizmo app again. I now have two gizmo watches that are wasteful because I can’t connect them and i went to the physical
Store and they couldn’t help. Verizon family continues to tell me I am not on the account
Once again the store could not help

Unusable Gizmo with a business account

After many hours wasted trying to get this to work with my child’s gizmo watch, we are unable to get it to work since our account is under a business account. Stupid move on Verizon’s part to force people to switch to a new app. We will instead just be switching to a different watch for our child now.

Zero stars

The gizmo app was bad enough. They had to make a less user friendly app that doesn’t actually track well? Nothing but problems since the switch. Now I can’t track location with low battery? What is the actual point. DO NOT BUY A GIZMO WATCH. Will be upgrading to an Apple Watch on T Mobile.

Give back texting

The new update that is forcing my child to use the Verizon family app and has taken away the gizmo hub is awful. My child needs to be able to text teachers, coaches and sitters that are not in the family circle and have no need to be added to my family circle or to be given additional permissions. You’ve broken something that worked and not expect these individuals to download an app just to text with a child who has a gizmo watch. That’s unreasonable and unrealistic

Bring back gizmo app

This new app is just awful. Hard it navigate. Not reliable. Messages not going through. Do better Verizon.

Update - Their response to send a message via the app is hilarious. We have done this several time and have had to call where we were in the phone for over an hour while the person at Verizon tried to help us. Don’t even get me started on Verizon’s Apple Watch services for kids. A joke.
