Complete waste of money

The whole first book was JUST WORLDBUILDING. There was nothing for you to do besides determine your characters values such as genuine or not. You are not included in much action at all in the whole story and in the end, this should’ve been free to play if the author really wanted to make it as a pilot episode type book. Haven’t played the rest of the books so if you don’t plan on completing the series, don’t buy.

Good concept, slightly overwritten

Excuse brevity.

Pros:
Nice concept, strong world-building, lots of variety in the story nodes. Also like the “Battle Stats” mechanic. The slow-burn choice investment style is cool.

Cons:
The descriptive passages are too dense and wordy; too much exposition between player interaction. Too often I can hear the writer’s voice rather than the characters, and it takes me out of the game.

Nonetheless, intriguing game-book style experience.

10/10

A great game, definitely worth the buy! Very excited to continue the story

AMAZING!!

I thought about getting the game for a while before getting it, but when I got it it was a-ma-ing! I 95% Recommended, it has awesome story telling, great characters, feels like a real book, and it is not too random on teleporting like the other reviews say. The *random* teleporting has a reason.

Have a good day!

I like weird, but...

This was just too weird for me. But I guess if you like absolutely no character development, a sidekick who’s in a coma for basically the entire book, and frequent random teleportations that make you wonder if the protag is just hopped up on drugs the whole time, then read on. But be warned- the basic plot is you getting dropped off on some random bloody planet and being confused the whole. freaking. time.
No actual progress further than that, and the parts with some action have no real risks. There’s just more backstory than I would care to swallow, and I felt myself skipping paragraphs upon paragraphs of some random planet’s history or whatever.
Probably not going to buy the next book.

Don't hesitate!

I'm a big fan of the Heroes saga but I hesitated on Versus based off of reviews saying the story and wording was too confusing. In my opinion, if you're open minded or have read any Sci-Fi novels, you'll be fine. I highly recommend this!

Best choice of Game so far

One of the best interactive story I read so far. The dept and richness of that book is simply astounding. Amazing work. Will recommend.

Awesome game

I have never reviewed a game before but this one is just to cool not to and I just hop there are many more to come

Ticks every box and many more

Interesting romances? Check. Engaging rivals? Check. Meaningful choices? Big check. Diversity? Check. AWESOME IMAGINATIVE WORLD AND UNUSUAL INTERESTING STORY? C H E C K

Unique and Epic

A very intriguing story that's addictive to read, with very imaginative characters, settings and plots. Highly Recommended!

AMAZING sci-if/fantasy game!!

I’m a huge fan of interactive novels and games, but I find most of them to lack either compelling writing or reader choices that can actually change the plot and outcome. This game lacks neither, and is easily worth its price!! I’m writing this in the hope that CoG releases many more Versus installments because I’m not ready to walk away from this story :)

Different but Brilliant

This is more of a Sci-Fi genre which I normally don't enjoy and I did have to persevere with the first couple of chapters. The perseverance was well worth it! This is an excellently written, original and imaginative choices story which really makes you feel in control of your character and engaged with the world you rapidly become immersed in. Excellent! Worth every penny! If you like choices books then this is a must try!

Great Read

LOVED the story. Totally worth the cost. For sure.

Amazing

Very good game! Lots of replay-ability!

Extremely talented author

Zachary Sergi, are you a published author in the mainstream world? If not, why not? This story eclipses even Heroes Rise in imagination, complexity and inventiveness. I remember most clearly being hammered with a dozen questions and new information in rapid succession, mind racing to take it all in. What a ride. The only beef I have, as ever, is the occasional typo and outright bad grammar, but these are rare. If you would like a proofreader, I’ll gladly volunteer. Brilliant.

Don't Delay!

I cannot emphasize enough how good this was. Truly one of the best interactive novels I've come across. Fascinating plot points, diverse characters, significant choices... Honestly what more do you need? I'm happy to say it was well-written. Can't wait for the next!

Amazing!

An inspirational and enjoyable choose your own adventure story. As always, the story and choices feel real and exciting. No matter what it status in life, you can relate to the main character. A must read.

Cooool.

I can't wait for part 2 to come out. ❤️

Wholeheartedly recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed this story as much as this author's previous work. Some of the best interactive fiction I've had the privilege to play.

Very very engaging

I love this book. One of the best interactive books I've read (the other being romance, choice of courts I think that's what it is called?).

I was sucked in immediately and actually started feeling for all the characters, especially OtherBoard. Not too sure about the "goddess" though, may need to bring her down somehow! ;-)

Brilliant author, and I hope many more books to come because I'll be purchasing them all!
