Commander of the Vfw
I’m the commander. Numerous times I have tried to recruit from the app. I’m extremely inclined and using it properly. The app won’t let you select the state, the app is extremely faulty. Needs a lot of bugs fixed. Just to put it simply, it’s a complete waste of time. The app is useless in my opinion. Just call state and annoy them for recruiting bec this app only lets you get sent to the website…also needs fixed

Pathway app
App is not standalone and only acts as a link to the website. The website / app doesn’t support low network capabilities. Held a recruitment event and the website kept crashing during member sign up

Can’t login with ID.me
I would love to use the app, however as of 03/2025, when I verify with ID.me, it fails to redirect with the VFW app, stating a “server error.”

After reading a couple of positive reviews for this app. I can clearly tell that they are paid reviews. I been downloading this app from time to time over the last few years and each time no matter what I do it crashes with a server error. the VFW send so much information in the mail-that they should relax on it and use some of that funding to get this app fixed and then they may have better interaction with vets and members until then this app is absolutely trash

Articles are up to date
Based on previous reviews I went through to see if anything was enhanced. And all features have been updated. This can become a great platform.
App had been refreshed
A lot has changed with the app since the last review 4 years ago. I primarily use it for the digital ID but there are links and options that redirect you to the vfw.org website as necessary. If anything I’d like to see the digital IDs more widely accepted.
Not functional
Terrible- can’t get it to sign on. It crashes and goes back to the log in screen. You’d think with all of the money raised they could afford a decent developer.
Unable to Authenticate with Troop ID via Google
Unfortunately the app is not secure enough to pass the appropriate token through the single sign on google to troop.Id

Stuck in 1999 & out of touch with todays veterans needs
Who’s great grandfather designed this app? I now see why none of the guys I served with want to join vfw - dying organization that isn’t keeping up with technology or what younger veterans want
No Longer Works on iPhone 6
This app no longer works on iPhone 6 despite indication to the contrary.
It’s either insanely slow or just doesn’t work
Couldn’t get anything to load. The things that did “load” were redirects to the website.
Outdated content
The app is exciting and should be useful for members to locate posts, recruit new members and receive news from National. Unfortunately the info is stale and outdated. Links to the 120th convention in 2019? Please let me know who at National I can engage to suggest keeping the information current and stale.

App Log On Broken
Just downloaded the latest app update and it broke the log on process. I was able to log on prior to the update.
ID.ME Support issue
Found that since the upgrade I can no longer login via APP. I can only login via web portal

Upon trying to login via TroopId. You’re presented with an alert saying that the app is unsuitable for a TroopID Login...

Well that was an awful lot of verification for an application that doesn’t do anything.
