Avoid This App: Grainy Results and Tricky Subscription Trap
I downloaded this video-to-pic app, for the free trial, expecting clean, high quality even on videos that look sharp on my phone. The results are barely usable for anything beyond casual sharing.
What makes this worse is the subscription. I forgot to cancel right after trial (my mistake, but it happens) and now I’m locked into a full year of paying for an app that doesn’t deliver. Apple denied my refund request, so I’m stuck with it. The app itself is clunky and doesn’t live up to the promises in the description or screenshots. If you’re considering this app, set up a reminder to cancel immediately if you try the trial. Not worth the money of the frustration.

This app was amazing, 5 stars!! Until they put everything behind a paywall. Now you can only save one picture before the paywall. Uninstalled.

Now I’m honestly trying to rush this cause I’m kind of using this app to make edited videos into pictures cause I’m kind of trying to submit reports to NWS and this app helps me turn them into images without low quality
Great app, but need timestamps option
This is a good and simple app, does what you need it to do in terms of taking screenshots. However when you save the photo it puts the time of saving as now under the photo metadata and doesn’t extract and apply the metadata from the original video, there are other apps like Frame Grabber that do that, but alas they are more expensive. I think the metadata addition is very important and if developers add that I’ll be happy to subscribe and change my starts to 5!
Update: they fixed this and developer personally reached out to me to update me on this new metadata feature ! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Total Garbage
(1) The still photos extracted are cropped, even when I select the correct aspect ratio.
(2) When extracting more than one photo, the video gets dropped, as the app crashes.
(3) There is an ad for every single photo capture, which makes the app non-usable.

Not 4K
I don’t know why this is so highly rated. It compresses the video before allowing you to select a frame. The export is not 4K, even if the video is.
Also, the prices have increased ($2.99 minimum or you get uncloseable ads).

Basically a screenshot
Doesn’t save at high res. I pulled a frame from a video and expected at least 5mb quality but instead it was 300kb. With no way to save at a higher res it’s the same as taking a screen grab. Not worth it.
Great app! Super easy and efficient!
I was looking for a uncomplicated app that would take pictures from my video in attempt of having Christmas pictures with my cats this year (last year it was almost impossible cause I was just taking screenshots and it looked horrible). It’s free, the advertisement is not as annoying as many apps I have tried with photos/videos editing!
