Does mostly what it’s designed to do. Could do more.
Installation was easy, but needed Viking Support to help with orientation of the connector. Once installed, it worked great. You can open and close the gate remotely and see the Opened/Closed/Opening/Closing status wherever you are. I was not able to get notifications working, either pops on my phone or email.
I would like smart home integration with Alexa / Google home. This would support both control (e.g. “Open the gate”) and announcements (e.g. “The gate is [opening, closing, blocked, etc.]”.

Connection issues
This app is terrible. The notifications just pick and choose when to work and every so often you have to delete and reinstall the app just to make it connect and work. Love standing out in the snow and seeing the spinning wheel of death as you’re trying to open your gate. Do better Viking, we pay enough for your product.

Functional but very limited
With todays automation and integration advancements , this feels like we are back in 2005 .. at a minimum it needs programmable settings / scenes . I chose Viking brand because of the motor quality based on installer feedback . However, LiftMaster/Chamberlain MyQ app is much more functional and has a TON more accessories
