Horrible fees, horrible liquidity, horrible user interface
Impossible to turn a profit unless you pick that 1 in 1000 wine that goes parabolic due to the ridiculous fees, and don’t think about getting them shipped unless you own a full case so if theres no liquidity for the wine you buy you have no option but to sell super low.
Complete scam, money trap
Do not bother with this app or “asset class”. All of your investment will be trapped indefinitely. You cannot sell your wine, even at a significant discount. You cannot realistically ship wines to yourself - they charge you $800+ for a few cases. Unbelievable scam.
Zero customer support or liquidity.
They make the selling process impossible so you keep paying their stupid fee (on top of the transaction fee they charge you) I have never called support and been connectef with an agent. I have been wanting my money out of this scam for a year and I still haven’t.
On the way out
I think Vinovest days are numbered. The app has not seen any meaningful updates in a long time and is borderline unusable. Everything about Vinovest is about as bad as it gets for investing in wine.
They’re kinda thieves
They do anything they can to keep your money, and when you try to sell and close your account, they’ll price it to where it drags on so they can keep taking your monthly fee. Lost $2k just trying this out to see how it goes. I’d highly recommend avoiding. Even if you did do long term (say 15 years), the money they’d make off your monthly fee basically erases your profit

Run!!! This app steals your money….. don’t download and certainly don’t “invest” they steal your money after you transfer funds in and they refuse to allow you to withdraw… needs to be looked into for potential crime!!! DO NOT USE THIS APP!!!! RUN

Update: July 2025. My resolve that is company is a scam has only grown. They keep charging monthly fees, and the value of my “investment” has only decreased. While inflation and the markets are at record highs.

Don’t do this. All the fees make your investment worthless
I really liked the idea of this. But now when trying to sell. It’s been almost a year and no sell and during this time they keep charging me fees. Terrible business imo

Do not invest with Vinovest. You will never see your money again. I have been trying to withdraw my funds for over a month with no luck. DO NOT DO IT. It’s not worth it.
Total scam
The the value of my portfolio would decline dramatically at random times, and when I checked the individual wines within my portfolio, they were all relatively stable and I tried to reach out to Support and they were of no help and would just provide generic responses that wine prices may fluctuate and when I told them that I would escalate things if they did not respond, they just stopped responding Aalto together. Getting my money out is also been a huge hassle and I still haven’t been able to get it out and it’s going to take weeks more according to their website.

Horrible investment
Worst decision of my life to invest with this company. I have asked multiple times for them to sell my wine and return my money. They refuse to do what I ask. If you’re thinking about doing this, please reconsider.

Awful experience put your money elsewhere
I was really excited about the prospect of being able to invest in wine with vinovest, but my experience has been a total nightmare.
They make it extremely easy for you to deposit money and buy wine.
They wines they picked for me have not only been losing money, but I also am having trouble selling them. I started the selling process 3 months ago, and 1 case has sold.
Customer service has been terrible. They charge exorbitant fees, and when you try to sell your wine the bid ask spread is enormous.
Wouldn’t tell my worst enemy to invest with vinovest. Seems like a Ponzi scheme to be honest.

Do not invest in wine with Vinovest unless you want to lose your money.
I have had my wine for over 3 years and my dashboard shows a 20% return so far. As soon as I listed my wine for sale the return dropped to -30%….
Do not invest with this company/app unless you are looking to donate a monthly storage fee to them.
They charge you a storage fee based on the “value” of your wine and then tank the value as soon as you go to sell. This means you are paying inflated fees for your wine while it is realistically worth way less!!!
Such a scummy company… I can’t wait to sell my wine and take the loss and be done with them!!!!

Money pit
As mentioned by other users, it’s difficult to get your investment back. The bid ask spreads are huge so no one is paying their theoretical market prices. Their buying power isn’t that strong resulting in mediocre purchasing price per bottle.
If you want your wine they charge insane shipping fees since the storage is in the UK, for me the US it was $400+ to ship 6 bottles. No point in buying my own inventory at that point.
The customer service is terrible, good luck trying to speak with a representative.

Low Trust
I’ve been waiting for weeks to get my money back from VinoVest, and it still hasn’t arrived. This raises serious concerns about trust and how they manage client funds. In today’s world, there’s no excuse for such delays, and it makes me question whether my money is even safe. If you can’t trust a platform to return your cash in a reasonable time, how can you trust them with your investments? Until they fix this, I’d be very wary of using the service.

Very poor returns over a three year period. IMPOSSIBLE to withdraw money and sell your wines. I’ve been attempting to do so, offering big discounts for months. Avoid this app like the plague.
Deposit a small amount, and try to get your money back…
The app and site are great, and the onboarding team is really responsive… UNTIL you try to get your money back! Then they disappear really quick! Stay away!
