v4.2.10 Fixes Registration Issue

The issue where registering your soft token with VIP Self Service Portal causes a 3101 error appears to be resolved. The iPad version of the app can now operate as well as the iPhone version does!

However, there is one thing I would like to ask as an enhancement; now that iPadOS 26 supports free-form application windows, it would be great if VIP Access for iPad can be made resizable to arbitrary sizes, even to sizes for the iPhone, so that you can use the app amongst others on your display(s) without consuming so much screen space. This allows the tool to continue to be useful without getting in the way of all your other work.

Thank you for the update!

Error 3101. Worst app, worst support

As others have pointed out, this app has not been compatible with an iPad for a while. Keeps throwing up error 3101. No way to get support from Broadcom. No apparent effort by the company to fix the error of such a critical app that controls one’s access to crucial apps.

3101 error is unfixable

Joshk52 is 100% right. The app does not work on the latest version of apple I-pad software. Broadcom does not answer email regarding this issue

Beyond frustrating

This app is required on an iPad if you’re trying to log into E*TRADE with two factor authentication. With a new iPad running iOS 26.2 you get an error of 3101. Deleting the app and reinstalling it multiple times does not solve the problem. The same app for an iPhone will install and seems to run OK, but the app icon disappears and turns into a black square. You need credentials to log onto the Broadcom website to get support. This unacceptable that support for this app is so poor. Apple won’t let me give 0 stars.

Recent update broke it 1/9/26

App is broken for win11 and iPad. iPad saga to reach out to vip support email, however we have done this several times with no response

Useless

Error 3101

Does not work on iPads

While it works fine on my phone it does not work on either of my iPads.

Garbage, won't activate, had to use the iPhone version instead

Broadcom, fix this buggy app. It just pops unable to activate, error 3101, obviously it's the app since the iPhone version d
gets past this setup point without the error.
Companies, stop using VIP, passkeys are here, as are standard TOTP systems.

Cannot Be Registered

Unfortunately, this app is not able to apply for a device registration as it responds with an error code 3101. I had to try the iPhone version of this application instead.

Doesn't work on my iPad.

Throws up an error message. Ugh. The phone app works here. Not sure how it will work with slide-over for the one site where I need it.

Doesn’t work

Just says, “Unable to activate…” Activate what? I just installed this thing…

Unable to activate on my iPad

I keep getting error code 3101.

Aside from that the app works only in Portrait mode which is rather primitive.

I could not authenticate with Apple Vision Pro (M2)

I could not authenticate with my financial institution using this version of VIP Access. The error message was not particularly helpful: “bad token.”

Migration

Please add version 5 to the App Store for the iPad so credentials can be migrated.

Awful

Above all else it could not be installed without great effort, even by the experts at the site it was intended to be used for 2 step verification. The documentation is weak.
Then there is the 30 second race back to the intended app to enter the code This is a gymnastic effort because the intended app works best in the landscape mode and this authenticator only works in portrait mode. Note that other authenticators reset every minute, not 30 seconds.
The bottom line is this is an inferior product. Other authenticators give more time and can rotate to portrait or landscape. Unfortunately the user most often is handed this authenticator with no,option to use a better alternative,

iPad app? Not at all!

This is just an iPhone app working on the iPad. Does not support iPad landscape mode and many other super basic iPad things. Symantec - you can do better than this!

Not a real iPad app.

Doesn’t support multitasking. Doesn’t support landscape orientation (which is required by my Apple Magic keyboard). Not a real iPad app until both of those issues are fixed. What a hassle to use this to log into a website or app that is in landscape orientation, switching to this app in fullscreen because it’s so hard to fit six digits inside a circle into a multitasking view or redraw it in landscape orientation, and switch back. What a disgusting interaction. Shame on you, Symantec, for attempting to call this an iPad app. Apple should remove this garbage from the App Store.

Landscape support

In modern times, when iPads / Tablets are used as a laptop/desktop replacement, used with a keyboard case combo (like Apple’s own) an iPAD APP NEEDS TO SUPPORT LANDSCAPE!

Last update broke functionality

With this update it no longer works. All my VIP access tokens lost with this update.

Useless

The only thing more dysfunctional than this app is the bank that requires me to use it.
