Generally good

**Update: Have been using this for over two years, 700+ meals donated, and still no Garmin integration and no fix for the gym submission. Still like the concept, but clearly the devs don’t listen to feedback so docking a star!

Good concept and generally easy to use. I don’t think the rewards are very good, and I’m not really interested in them anyway. However, there are a couple of changes that could be made to make it even better. First, why is there no Garmin integration? The only options for syncing are your iPhone or Apple Watch. Also, the function to suggest a local gym for partnerships doesn’t work. I type in the gym name and hit the submit button, and nothing happens.

Great concept!

I love this app and all that they stand for! I think it’s super cool! I would just say that it would be cool to be able to connect your Garmin watch to the app. I don’t have an Apple Watch or a Fitbit since I use A Garmin watch, so right now I have to sync it with my iPhone, but I don’t always carry my phone on me to show I get 10,000 steps. So I would say the only improvement would be to enable you to connect more than just an Apple Watch or Fitbit.

Restaurants don’t honor credits

I’ve been using this app for over a year. I have accrued many credits and rarely used them. However every time I have tried to use them the featured restaurants’ employees have no idea about their partnership with this app and will not honor the offer. I experienced an extremely rude and argumentative manager at Tocaya (one of the only restaurants in partnership with Vizer near me) who refused to acknowledge this partnership despite me showing her the screen where this is very clearly spelled out. I start to wonder if meals are even being donated when I use this app. Why is this information not being passed down to employees that are supposed to be dealing with this simple transaction? I’ve reported this issue in the app every time it has happened and have received zero response or acknowledgment.

Vizer

I started using this app for the month of November through Orange Theory Fitness! For every workout I do this month I can donate a meal through the app (& I work out A LOT) 🙌🏻 it feels so great to put my workout towards something other than letting off some steam. I’m going to keep using this app past the month of November and donate meals for those who need them. Great app & great concept.

Good but fix notifications

I like the app generally, think the purpose and donation is great, and the notification I get asking whether I’ve met my goals and to remind me to donate if so is perfectly. But I hate that whenever I personally go to open the app because I DO already have 30 minutes or 10K steps, it then sends me a notification after the fact - “congrats on hitting X, open the app to donate”. And I get 1-2 of those in a row. It’s like, yes, I got it, that’s why I opened the app in the first place so why are you sending me these messages now? It’s a useless notification and pretty annoying. I use a Fitbit if that helps.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback! We're away of the notification bug and it will be resolved very soon. We appreciate your support.

Super easy way to help someone out

I happened across the Vizer app and downloaded it immediately. That was six days ago and I’ve already donated seven meals. All it took to begin this giving streak was sync my fitness tracker to the app and hit either 10k steps or 30 active minutes. Easy! The app works great and I love that my activity can help someone get a nourishing meal. Give it a try!

Workout motivation and Helping others

I just learned about this company and my experience so far is fantastic. When a participant works out 30 minutes or 10,000 steps, a company donates a meal through Feeding America to someone in need. What a fabulous concept. I am so happy to participate and it has given me a little extra motivation to get my workouts in. I shared this with one of the trainers at the YNCA where I work out and she signed up and is going to share with her clients too. The company had reached out to me several times since I started and made me feel like part of a great community too. I highly recommend participating.

BEST APP!!

I have been using Vizer for a while now (almost 300 meals donated!) and I am obsessed! I tell everyone who will listen to download the app, I think it’s such an amazing concept that I truly believe in. I’m a nurse and most of us hit 10k steps on a normal work day so why not give back to our community in the process. I’ve been through many updates with Vizer and the app keeps getting better and better. The “current streak” feature always motivates me to get a workout in when I’m feeling lazy. My only suggestion is to broaden the places to redeem the points. It seems like most options are in north county and I live all the way in la Mesa so I always forget to use those points. But it always seems like they are adding new sponsors so I love that. Thanks vizer!

Good karma motivation!

Who doesn’t to do a little extra good in their community? Vizer makes it easy- one click and I can donate a meal locally, just by doing my regular workout at home. You can also get credit/donate a meal by walking 10,000 steps over the course of the day, if you’re not the workout type.

For all of us who want to do some good in the world but don’t always have the time to volunteer, this is an easy yes.

I Iove Vizer!

A friend shared with me about the Vizer app because she knows I love to be active and walk. I try to reach at least 10,000 steps a day. Having the opportunity to do that and donate a meal fits right in with my mission in life, being a health and wellness advocate! So, of course, I jumped at the opportunity. It gives me the motivation to get my steps in and stay active everyday. I have shared with several people who also thought this was a great idea! Thank you, Vizer, for creating this! I love it!!

Helping Others Through Vizer

The Viser app provides an easy way, at no cost to you, to help communities in need by donating a meal on a daily basis. For a long time, prior to this app, I have been reaching the daily goal of 10,000 steps or 30 minutes of activity anyway. Finding out about the community benefits of this app while expending energy to stay healthy and at the same time help an individual receive the daily nourishment a lot of us take for granted is a WIN-WIN. No better feeling at the end of the day to hit the donate button knowing someone who is hungry will receive a much needed meal.

Suggestions

First off I want to say that I love this app. It actually communicates with my Apple Watch with no known unexpected behaviors occurring. I love their mission to feed the hungry just by doing something I do everyday for free. With that being said I have two suggestions. 1. Accumulate the Apple Watch data so that we can go in the app days later and donate, just in case we forget that day . 2. Give us an option to donate to animal shelters . People love animals as much as humans , maybe even more lol! Animal shelters are in desperate need of food and supplies and this would be a great way to help them. Anyways these are my suggestion, keep up the great work :)

Great app!

This app is an excellent tool that inspires daily fitness and gives the incentive of helping those in need! All you have to do is exercise for 30min a day, log into the app, and one of their partners will donate a meal on your behalf. Plus you earn points that you can utilize at local restaurants and other health related places. Can’t get much better then that!

I love this app. It is very easy to use and I like that I am able to serve others. I wish that one of the tracking options was for a Garmin device. I do not have an Apple Watch or a FitBit and find that the step tracking in my phone is not as accurate as my watch and my phone does not track when I have worked out for 30 minutes. But like I said earlier I love this app and will continue to use it.

Nice idea, the app could use some work...

It’s a great incentive to stay active, however the app itself could use a lot of work. It’s very glitchy at times. I don’t know how many times I get network errors or script errors, I get reminders when there’s a few hours left in the day even though I already donated my meal for the day, when I open the app I get multiple notifications that I’ve reached my activity but I don’t get those notifications before actually opening the app which kind of defeats the purpose. But, I still use it and it’s kept me active for over a month now so the benefits outweigh the glitches.

Great Motivation!

I’m typically a number person so I keep myself active by obtaining a numerical goal during yhe day. That’s why my sister recommended that I download Vizer! It’s great to know that I’m able to assist someone else by also helping myself out a little. If you’re looking to stay active this is a good effortless way to track your progress and stay motivated.

Feeling good and doing good

Love this app. It’s sometimes that last little bit of motivation I need to get a workout in or just to make sure I complete my exercise goal for the day. Love that my workout is good for me but has added value in helping feed somebody in my community. On top of that, I get rewarded with treats from local vendors. It’s a win all around! Thank you for the work you do Vizer!

Great cause + Awesome motivator!

I love this concept so much that I got a fitbit specifically so that I could track my steps since I rarely have my phone on me! It’s not perfect, but what technology is? It’s amazing how much a little motivation goes a long way! My partner and I regularly end our days with a jog around the house to get our remaining steps when we’ve had slower days or our step tracking has gone awry. I appreciate that it’s easier to get all of my steps in when there is an added incentive for others! I’ve been telling everyone I know to use the app!

Love / Needs work

I love love love this app! I think it’s the best idea Ever of pushing people to be healthy while giving back! My only negative feeling about the app is the inconsistency with it working. There are so many times where I have hit my 10,000 step count go to open the app and it malfunctions. I’ll try and try and try opening it again, restart my phone, etc. and still not working. It’s temperamental on when it wants to work properly! Just wish I could give back a little more! Other than that, I’ll keep using when I can!

Great idea! Still needs work though

I’ve used this app for years, I’ve donated 320 meals so far. I’ve never redeemed any of my points (with COVID I didn’t feel comfortable using my points for free food/drinks, I’m happy using the app just so I can donate meals). Also, I ordered a lot of food online since restaurants were closed down for a while, so I wouldn’t know how to redeem my points online. I live in San Diego and love that the company originated out of here, so I love supporting them.

The app itself looks cool but sometimes it stops working while it’s trying to gather my data for the day via my Apple Watch. I’d say this happens 30% of the time.

What I would love is to be able to redeem points at fitness studios. (ex: 50 points gets you a class at orange theory).

Love the idea of this app and recommend it!
