Continued bugs
Of the many bugs the lastest I was reminded of is that voalte tries to give you a notification that you were logged out of the app (e.g. if you logged in on your computer instead). However, it does not make the warning Bell until you reopen the app to log back in on your phone. You can be logged out of your phone for hours and not realize it with no warning. Also, why can’t you be logged in on your phone computer at the same time – – who the heck knows.

How do I give 0 stars? This app is a joke. I think a 3rd grader is more capable of writing software. Have you ever heard of iMessage or maybe WeChat? Maybe copy that and report back

as a physician i have used voalte for the past 3 years in the inpatient setting and it is truly the worst messaging app to ever exist. the server stability is awful, we will be unable to use the app for 6+ hours at a time and it freezes all communication between doctors, RNs, pharmacists, case management, social workers, EVERYONE. this happened twice this week alone. it is useless sometimes and even when it is working “well,” the lag times to load, log in, etc are incredibly frustrating when we rely on voalte to take care of time sensitive tasks and communication. please improve the server stability, it is unacceptable to have this service completely non-functional for so long and so frequently

Slow and poor search features
I am a physician who uses Voalte me every day for clinical care. The search feature is awful, when you type a name in to find someone it takes ages to load and often doesn’t find the person even when you spell it correctly. The app frequently gets stuck loading when you open it. In general, it is slow and clunky requiring frequent closing and reopening. Unfortunately none of this has improved over the 3 years our hospital has been using it. I would not recommend this for hospitals and I wish the Voalte developers would improve the app, because we are now stuck with it. Epic chat and traditional pagers both work better.

Constant lags. Need watch support
Constantly message lags. Sync problems and slow to load messages. Worst thing is to get an alert then have to refresh/wait 20 sec to read it. Needs Apple Watch support yesterday.

Poor Audible Notifications and Text Delivery
Updated to iOS 26 and I only get audible alerts from Voalte Me if my IPhone 14 Pro is UNLOCKED. I’m not leaving my phone unlocked. Also when texting providers text delivery is significantly delayed. Glad we are moving away from Voalte and Voalte Me

Good, not great
Please add iOS associated domain support (so keychain can autofill credentials securely) or face-id login options! Some of us have to change contexts/devices often with voalte so speeding up logging in would be a major win!

User interface is confusing; not clear how I can respond to messages sent through the system

I can see embedded waveforms, get actionable alarms from devices, and even have assignments flow directly from Epic—all in one place. It’s gone from a messaging app to an indispensable part of daily workflows.

Terrible system
This is an absolutely useless app. When we started out using it 10-ish years ago, it was sort of functional, but over the past two years it has gotten progressively worse to the current situation where nursing staff can’t call me thru Voalte because all of a sudden the VoalteMe doesn’t pick up my talking on incoming calls. If I call THEM in VoalteMe, everything works fine. If I call anyone else thru my normal cell service, everything is fine. Thank goodness we are ridding ourselves of this garbage app in the next year

Terrible
This app would be good if it worked. Instead it’s laggy and buggy like it belongs in the early 2000’s. Lacks basic modern messaging features. Unreliable. I wish I didn’t have to use it
Buggy and zero QOL improvements
Buggy and slow. UI is terrible. They have made zero QOL improvements since I starting using the app 2 years ago.
Horrible
If there was anyway we did not have to use Voalte (only option currently at our institution, but looking into others now) none of us would. It is dangerously slow and inefficient. It will not show providers who are online/available when you search their name, it will crash frequently while writing a long message, it takes *minutes* just to send a brief message, and we’ve had to delete the app and redownload it many times when it won’t let us log in. Truly garbage.

Worst messenger possible
A platform used in 2025 that’s somehow worse than Yahoo, AIM, MSN messenger from the 1990s. Can’t add or remove people from group chat. Takes 30 seconds to search for any user. Absolutely the worst.
