Needs updating
I’m a new Vocal user and the app looked okay superficially. However, it is very basic and needs updating. 1. Despite being logged in, the ‘library’ view does not show the people I previously subscribed to on the web before installing the app. 2. There is no way to search for stories, topics, or people. All you can do is browse by community - not ideal with thousands of articles.
3. I changed my username and can no longer use the app. Even after deleting and reinstalling, it tries to log in under the old name and fails, with no option to edit my login details! Hence my editing this review to downgrade from 3 stars to 1.

Fraudulent Charges DO NOT SIGN UP FOR VOCAL
I deleted my account in 2023 - with a confirmation email from Vocal that my account no longer existed - and got a charge on my credit card for $99 in Dec 2024. I tried to dispute the charge with my credit card company; however, because I had used Vocal in the past, they ultimately decided not to reverse the charge. I do not have an account to even log into Vocal. I tried to request a password to my email and nothing. They are making fraudulent charges on peoples accounts without having a membership, and I am not the only one. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR VOCAL!!!!

One Thing Missing
This site is a great place to publish short stories, but I never know if my stories are being read because there are no insights.
I hope they add this feature in future updates. It needs to shows likes, comments subscriptions and views.

Customer service is terrible
I was charged after canceling my membership 5 days prior to renewal. Then 2 weeks later money came out. Have been trying to chase customer service and nothing. Clearly just one sided company that doesn’t care about its customers. Gross.

This is an app that connects to story tellers around the world and I am unable to find one story that is not in English.
