Vota: assemblies and voting

In Vota's secret ballots, your organization can know that you took part. Never what you voted. That sentence is easy to write and hard to keep. Vota keeps it in the data model, not in a promise: the ballot is stored apart from the roster, in a place where no column holds your name, and the permit that connects them is deleted inside the very transaction that casts the vote. After that, neither the administrators nor anyone reading the database can rebuild the link. Even the ballot's timestamp is rounded, so cross-checking the two lists by time is not enough to identify you. Nobody is left out of the meeting by the device they happen to have. HONEST ABOUT ITS LIMITS No system can promise absolute secrecy: in a vote among very few people, the tally alone says a lot.
