About

Vota

Vota is the online voting app for HOAs, condo associations, neighborhood groups, boards and any organization with named members. Assemblies, elections and polls with a secret ballot that is real: the organizer can know that you took part, but never what you voted. WHO IT IS FOR • Condominiums, apartment buildings and homeowner associations • Building committees and neighborhood associations • Schools and parent groups • Companies, boards, unions and co-ops • Clubs and any organization with a membership roster EVERYTHING ONE TAP AWAY Each community is organized in four sections: Votes, Community, Meetings and Settings. What you do often stays in sight, and the rest lives in a menu that stays out of the way. SECRET BALLOTS, FOR REAL The ballot is stored apart from the roster, in a place where no column holds your name. The permit that connects them is deleted inside the very transaction that casts the vote: after that, neither the administrators nor anyone reading the database can rebuild the link. Even the ballot's timestamp is rounded, so cross-checking the two lists by time is not enough to identify you. VOTES AND ELECTIONS • Single choice, multiple choice, yes/no/abstain, rating scale and open answers • Secret or open (roll-call) voting, depending on the decision • Quorum by turnout or by ownership share, computed for you • Weighted voting: every owner or member counts for what the bylaws say • Before publishing you see who will be able to vote, so nobody is left out unknowingly • Live results or results at closing, with the quorum in sight • Exportable minutes with the roster and the results CONDO AND HOA ASSEMBLIES • Notice, agenda and in-person or remote attendance, with a QR code for the room • Voting by unit, with ownership shares and delinquent units kept out unless they have a payment plan • Supermajority matters with the rule the law requires (Chile's condominium law 21,442) • Digital proxies and signed proxy letters with a photo, approved by the administration • Board elections, with a tie-break draw anyone can reproduce • Official minutes with a digital fingerprint, ready to sign CHECK YOUR VOTE When you cast your ballot you get a verification code. It lets you confirm that your ballot is in the count without revealing to anyone what you chose. SIGN IN THE WAY YOU ALREADY DO With the Apple account already on this iPhone or iPad, or with Google, Microsoft or email and password. Face ID or Touch ID to come back in. If your organization invited you with a different email, you link it later and both end up in the same account. FROM WHEREVER YOU ARE The app and the website do the same things. Whoever prefers a computer votes on the computer; whoever is on the bus votes on the phone. Nobody misses the assembly because of the device at hand. REMINDERS THAT DON'T NAG Push and email when a vote opens and before it closes, only to those who haven't voted yet. Each kind of notice can be muted. IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH Everyone picks their own language: on a board with residents from abroad, each one reads in theirs. HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT CANNOT DO No system can promise absolute secrecy. In a vote with very few people, the vote count alone already says a lot. Vota is built so that secrecy holds against the administrators and anyone reading the database, and it explains that instead of promising magic. PLANS Free for up to 500 people. Voting by unit, weighted voting and condo-law sessions need a plan (Essential, Community or Corporate): a monthly or yearly subscription that renews automatically, or a 30-day pass that does not renew. Payment is charged to your Apple Account; turn off auto-renewal in its settings at least 24 hours before the period ends. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Privacy: https://vota.birdie.cl/privacy.html Vota is a Birdie product.
