Almost 500 MB is unreasonable
I’m giving this one star for two reasons: 1) Firstly, and most importantly, almost 500 MB is an unreasonable size for an app of this kind. There are popular passport/ID card NFC chip reader apps in the App Store that are around 12 or 13 MB, and it’s unclear what other libraries/code this app needs to include that should require it to be more than one order of magnitude larger. People don’t have half a gigabyte spare for something as discretionary as this. 2) The app claims that there is no photo on the chip of my UK passport, which is evidently not true, as I can retrieve it using the aforementioned popular apps.

Mir fehlen die Worte
Ich verzweifle wirklich gerade an Europa. Anscheinend sind wir zu effektiver Softwareentwicklung einfach nicht fähig da wir uns fast ausschließlich mit Datenschutz beschäftigen müssen. Nichts an dieser App funktioniert wie erwartet. Nachdem ich jetzt manuell verifiziert wurde, kann ich mich weder in der W Social App unter iOS noch im Browser entsprechend authentifizieren.

Besser manuell registrieren!
Achtung Zeitfressmaschine! Ich muss mich leider den vielen schlechten Kommentaren anschließen ;( Keine App wäre besser als diese! Ich gehöre als IT-Spezialist zu denjenigen, die Herausforderungen annehmen und versuchen, das Unmögliche möglich zu machen. Auch ich bin an der App gescheitert und habe dabei leider unnötig viel Zeit verschwendet.
Ich finde das Projekt WSocial echt gut und werde mich von dieser App nicht abhalten lassen, aber ich fürchte, dass mit einer derart dysfunktionalen Barriere das gesamte WSocial-Projekt gefährdet ist. Deswegen mein Tipp: Nicht lange mit der 'W Identity'-App aufhalten und gleich manuell registrieren! VL rocks!

This thing is really broken
I have tried, a couple of times, mostly from morbid curiosity, to do the authentication dances necessary to join W social. I don't really understand why they think their own verification application is the best way in. The handover between the two apps, and the ID scanning is glitchy, confusing and crashes. I've not been able to complete it and my confidence level is probably too low now to persist.
