This thing is really broken
I have tried, a couple of times, mostly from morbid curiosity, to do the authentication dances necessary to join W social. I don't really understand why they think their own verification application is the best way in. The handover between the two apps, and the ID scanning is glitchy, confusing and crashes. I've not been able to complete it and my confidence level is probably too low now to persist.

Does not like q code is sister app.
Broken
Doesn't work with my UK passport. Reads the data via the camera but the "chip can't be trusted". My passport reader app has no issues so it's not the passport... Contacted support but no response. Likely to bin this completely.

Could not verify, nfc and reading passed the just waiting and waiting forever
Verification is Very Poor
Takes a long time to scan the passport data and then says the chip data cannot be trusted. If this is any indication of the quality of software then maybe your product will be dead on arrival.

Ich habe das gleiche Problem wie viele andere, die App kann den Ausweis nicht lesen. Ich frage mich nur, warum die Entwickler bisher niemand geantwortet haben
24hrs wasted
I have tried for 24hrs to get this to work having been invited to use W Social, having contacted support twice now I am no further forward and my blood pressure has increased to the point where I decided to delete my account only to find that I have to wait for a confirmation e-mail in order to leave!….. Be aware!…..🥹🥲🌻

Keinerlei Probleme!
Also bei mir hat alles super funktioniert. Ich habe nicht die einfachste Verifizierungsart gewählt und musste deshalb etwas warten auf die Freischaltung,aber das hat alles wunderbar geklappt. Und auch im laufenden Betrieb in Verbindung mit der Social App ist alles super gelaufen. Bis jetzt. Ich kann die vielen negativen Bewertungen aus meiner Sicht nicht nachvollziehen.

UK passports?
Doesn’t seem to support NFC chips in UK passports, won’t read machine readable part of German residence permit, deleted it and W Social.

It simply does not work. Id links from the email or QR codes from the desktop account just don’t seem to be correct

Liest den Maschinencode des Personalausweises nicht
Die Idee, sich mit der elektronischen Ausweisfunktion per NFC zu identifizieren ist gut. Leider scheitert der Schritt bei mir schon beim Lesen des Maschinencodes per Kamera auf dem Ausweis. Er zeigt einen Rahmen darum, kann den Text aber nicht erkennen.

Endlich kam die Einladung zu W Social. Schnell noch die Verifizierung der Identität erledigen. Tjo, Tage und unzählige Versuche später hat das immer noch nicht geklappt. Vielleicht sind meine Ausweisdokumente unzureichend oder mein Gesicht zu hässlich, ich weiß es nicht. Klappt jedenfalls nicht. Kein Bock mehr. Eigentlich schade.

Released before ready?
I wasted more than an hour trying to get this app to recognise my passport. Gave up & deleted it. I won’t be bothering with W Social. This terrible app likely to mean W Social will fail.
Useless App
Trying to verify my ID is not working at all, I am now getting an error message trying to set this up. It does not scan the passport front page and just hangs.
Scanning the lines inside the password is very glitchy. So I have an invite email and tried several times, but it appears that W Social does not want me on there as their W Identity is not fit for purpose.

Gibt es überhaupt Programmierer?
Seit einigen Wochen warten wir auf den QR Code um uns anzumelden. Scheinbar wurde nur etwas hingefrickelt und das war es dann. Zur Funktionsweise kann ich leider noch nichts sagen. Leider muss man einen Stern vergeben. Hier sollte Apple die Möglichkeit einrichten auch null zu vergeben.

Tried to use it, it crashed going through the verification process. Emailed support a week ago and still no response.
ID scan fails
At least for me, this is a worthless piece of junk: scanning the machine-readable part of my NFC ID just doesn't work. It keeps looping between "hold still" and "trying again".
