Update lacking

There appears to be no place in the app or online to control the number of emails that are sent to you. I would like to restrict the number of emails (as I did before) but can’t.

Boooo

Wish my company would go back to another app. Walkingspree sucks and never works

App Sucks

Fails to sync with Apple Health and login to reset takes 24 hours or more. Help function is worthless.

Not sure who lives good reviews

App stop sync with Fitbit no matter how many times during the day you can try. Newest design is titl fail. They sync steps for the challenges manually day after day.

Used to be better

Before the update, I would get notified where I was throughout the day, not anymore. My steps will not sync unless I do it manually. I also don’t like that our “program admin” has to place us in our groups. I appreciate the app for the motivation and friendly competition, just not a fan of the update.

Latest update doesn’t work

I just updated the Walkingspree app to it’s latest version and nothing works. It won’t show my daily steps and my record is showing fewer 10k steps than I had. Looks like a lot of information was lost, and the interface is non responsive. Complete mess. I might have to remove the app.

Upgrade to version 11 broke all connections

Horrible update. Step screen is now tiny and hard to see. Don’t Update!

Apple Health sync issue

I had issues with syncing with Apple Health. Even with support team assistance the issue was not resolved.

Forced to use, wish I could delete

Clunky, doesn’t update well, I don’t know why myhealthcheck got roped into using this program but sheesh there’s got to be something better

Walking Spree

Yes, I concur this app is terrible. It doesn’t tell you of your progress. You can’t find anything they hide the reimbursement window in the mobile app and it took forever to find it on the website. Then after I fill out my reimbursement all of a sudden I see every day. The app design is absolutely terrible.

Annoying in so many ways

I lift and do the stair master in the gym. I spend 2-3 hours on the weekends in the gym but I can’t log my full workouts because “it’s not fair” and there’s no limit on tracking devices. I track my workouts on my Apple Watch and it doesn’t transfer to the app. It’s not fair that I do the work and can’t log it!
Navigating is also horrible. I can’t bookmark my company so I have to search then I see my progress vs my colleagues there. I can’t see my history so I’m not sure if I have entered all of my workouts.
So many opportunities for improvement.

Response from developer

Thank you for the valuable feedback, currently Walkingspree only records validated steps from AppleHealth and not from the AppleWatch. This is an area where we are looking to bring in the future. In the meantime please reach out to our support team at support@walkingspree.com and we will be more than happy to provide you with recommendations as to how your workouts can be translated into steps directly from the Walkingspree app.

do not recommend

app is constantly crashing and disconnecting from apple health. does not sync accurately, my apple watch/apple health will say i have 9k steps and the app will only give me credit for 6K. my employer relies on the app for our fitness stipend so when it didn’t sync correctly i miss out on the stipend.

Clunky, missing challenge data, terrible navigation.

This app is terrible compared to other trackers. You can’t see challenge progress within an event. You click on challenges and it just shows them. You can’t see anything as to the challenge tasks or your progress. For example; we have a current challenge with 21 days left, but nowhere can I even click on the challenge to find the tasks and progress of myself or anyone else. I can’t even see who’s in the challenge. So if you plan to do challenges I would not choose this app.

Missing steps

Everything started really well with this app. I go to the same park and do the same rounds, yet lately the step counts are less than all the other times. It’s very discouraging. Especially when trying to meet challenges.

Suddenly it doesn’t work

Used to work great, but all of a sudden since yesterday first i couldn’t log in and now it won’t open. I also tried to get app support but i received a message saying that the page doesn’t exist .
I’m not sure where i can go to find out how to fix it.

Horrible. App doesn’t load

App doesn’t load and crashes often. I do NOT recommend.

Loving this

I’m really loving this app. I like that it updates me on my number is steps and rewards me for moving. I also love that you can add a friend and start a little competition 👍🏾

Crashes when opening

Ugh, how awful.

You know, probably would have given this app a 3-star review, or just not reviewed it at all because while it works fine enough (though the steps total often deviates from steps on phone, that’s weird.), today I got a full on push notification begging for a 5-star review on the App Store. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! How horribly insulting and invasive of an app to misuse notifications for such self serving needs.

IF YOUR APP DOESN’T GET ENOUGH 5-STAR REVIEWS ON ITS OWN, YOU SHOULD PROBABLY LOOK INWARD TO FIGURE OUT WHY NOT…you should NEVER use pop ups to beg for reviews, ESPECIALLY when a user has “in-app reviews” turned off in settings to avoid such things. I will now be actively working on getting a new vendor at my company to replace this awful app.

Text of the pop up “If you enjoy using Walkingspree, would you mind taking a moment to give us a 5 star rating in the App Store? It will only take a minute. Th...”

Response from developer

At times, the Apple Health app may reduce the step totals after initially reporting them. This adjustment can happen either within minutes or hours and is due to a few reasons: The Health app on your iPhone collects data from various sources, such as your iPhone and Apple Watch. To prevent double-counting steps from different devices during overlapping time periods, the app automatically recalculates and adjusts the totals. Unreliable and terrible sync functionality

Installed it for a company health challenge competition and does not accurately display steps recorded by Apple, rolls back the number of steps few times a day, and has issues updating. If you are in competition you cannot rely on the this app to accurately reflect your place. Absolutely awful and frustrating.
