Can’t create a account
I tried creating an account, and it keeps coming up with an error message. So I emailed them hoping to solve the problem, but it’s been 3 days and no one has emailed back. Hoping this review gets their attention so I can join. If not, I guess I’ll just delete the app.
Shrug
I wanted to like this but I guess I’m looking for something different to connect to other chronically ill folks. Something more casual. This app leeches spoons from my day every time I open it.
-App looks for posts about symptoms or conditions that you also have. Makes sense in theory but in practice I had my timeline swamped with trauma-dumping from strangers. I wasn’t even following anyone? That’s not the kind of socializing I’m looking for.
-Because disability and chronic illnesses are so personal and vulnerable, I was surprised that the app wants me to use my real, legal name and an actual photo of my face. There wasn’t an option to make a screenname until after the account was already set-up, and you can only change it once for it’s entire existence. That just makes me feel unsafe. Lemme have fun picking a silly screen name. I could then choose to offer my name to friends I’ve talked to.
-similarly, I can’t find any info on deleting my account. I don’t want to just leave it unattended and hooked to my active email still. I want to tidy my digital space and delete accounts abd logins I don’t use. Can’t find a way to do that here.

Wonky/biased but a few new ideas
It’s wonky in that it crashes constantly and I couldn’t even post anything. Now I’m locked out in spite of typing in my correct email and password. Anything I click on to remedy this says “error”.
It’s biased in that it only gives certain options to tell others about who you are. There are about five new age things to choose from and not one Christian, for instance.
Some of the posts reflects the mass ignorance of the public which is annoying, but I did gather some information regarding my condition before it locked me out. Not worth the stress otherwise.

The Most Incredible Community App
I had been looking for an app like this for many years. I have had symptoms of fatigue, dizziness and fainting since 2017. I went to numerous doctors but they could not find anything wrong with me. I felt hopeless and lost.
Wana was referred to me by a friend and I am so grateful for her everyday. It has really changed my life. This platform has given me the sense of community and hope that I was missing.
I realized that there are so many people out there dealing with the same issues and are looking for people to talk to about it. This app also offers numerous resources for education on health topics so that you can really get in touch with what is going on in your body.
Thank you Wana team for recognizing this missing link of connection and developing an incredible platform and community.

Solid concept that *most* can benefit from
This app looks amazing for those who are dealing with medical conditions. However, the mental health community is extremely small. I would love to talk with the devs and help flesh this side of the app out cause it’s majorly lacking.
