Update: While WanderWallet did indeed finally come to a conclusion on what the issue was (my bank deposit reference did not match the account name due to an overarching name over several accounts)they only did so after multiple weeks and multiple attempts to reconcile the error. Their customer support was helpful, but the stated two clear times they gave instructions were anything but clear, as they had me remove my attached account and reverify because of Wanderwallets’ stated known problems with Noah. The company’s characterization in their response to my complaint , ie, that they knew what they were doing is completely erroneous.
It took WanderWallet several weeks (ticket opened July 29, first clear statement of issue to resolve was August 20th) to discover what the issue was. Kudos on them. Now my complaint is in their attempt to save face by putting the onus of the problem on me instead of saying “hey, we had a problem, we figured it out.” The attempt to shield themselves from responsibility of the initial problem and subsequent review I left is uncouth.
Companies face challenges, adapt to them, find solutions, and overcome.
Customers have the review process to move companies to action, and reviews can be changed/updated as problems are worked through.
This could have been a simple review to fix. The company’s response chose to exacerbate the problem by poor outward communication.

Thank you for the update, and fair enough: the path to identifying the issue took longer than it should have, and our communication around it should have been clearer. At the same time, the underlying deposit issue was real: the bank deposit reference/name did not match the account name we needed in order to safely match and credit the payment. During the move from Noah to Bridge, some cases like this were harder to diagnose than they should have been, and we understand why the reverification flow made the experience more frustrating. Our support team also followed up after the issue was identified in case you still needed help. We appreciate you recognizing that support was helpful, and we agree this should have been explained faster and more clearly. The payment still could not be credited without the required matching details, but the handling of the case could have been better.
UK citizen using in Bolivia
I’m also a UK citizen and have been able to use the app with no problems. It is easy to transfer USDC from Coinbase to WanderWallet.
I’ve found UK cards are regularly accepted in Bolivia and have not had any issues getting cash at ATMs. However in the odd scenario when UK cards fail, using WanderWallets QR scanner has saved us!

Sorry this happened, and I understand the hesitation. From what you described, the WanderWallet Pix payment itself was successful: it was accepted by the delivery platform, and then immediately refunded by them. That usually means the payment worked, but the merchant or platform rejected/cancelled the order after payment because of their own account, session, or validation checks, which is outside WanderWallet’s control. WanderWallet is working in Brazil and is used for Pix payments every day across many purchase sizes. Your refund was processed immediately, and if you contact support we can review this specific attempt and help with a retry or withdrawal.

Thank you for the fair feedback, and I’m sorry this was frustrating. The core issue here is New York-specific: the deposit infrastructure available to us is restricted there in ways we cannot override directly. Cash App Lightning is not available in New York, and our bank deposit partner currently cannot support that route there either. We’re updating the app so this is shown clearly on the relevant deposit screens, and we’ll add another usable route for New York residents as soon as we can.

Hi Eden, we’re sorry for the confusion here. This is not about WanderWallet deciding you are not trustworthy. Our banking partners currently do not provide bank deposit details to New York residents, and your account falls under that restriction. This is a recent change, and we should have communicated it more clearly in the app. We’re updating the flow and messaging so this is explained upfront instead of after you complete verification. We’re sorry for the poor experience.
Flat fees, failed payments, worse rates
First, that fee is flat: 20 cents on every payment, whatever the amount. Buy a 5-cent piece of gum and you still pay 20 cents on top, four times what the gum cost. No percentage, no sliding scale. Tiny purchases get hit the hardest.
Second, payments fail every now and then. The app admits this itself in your account and even tells you to carry cash for those cases. It happened to me once, and I couldn’t pay a restaurant bill for over two hours because the payment just wouldn’t go through.
Third, the exchange rate is worse than at a regular currency exchange.
So add it up. I can’t always pay with it, the app itself tells me to keep cash as backup, and the rate is worse than a plain exchange office anyway. So what do I actually need this app for?
