I just started using WanderWallet and I have nothing but positive interactions with this App. It’s user friendly and it makes my travel outside the US much easier where I don’t have to carry lots of cash with me where PIX is available as a form of payment especially in Brazil. New feature is coming sometime this year. Wait for the great news.

Great idea, absolutely useless for NY citizens in practice

Sounded great as travelling to Brazil soon. Downloaded app, identify verification failed the first time around, after sending passport info it finally worked, however the only way to “top up” accounts is CashApp lighting (not permitted in NY State, so useless), adding a US bank account which failed to verify even though my credentials were accepted, and Bitcoin lightning or Polygon blockchain. So for US NY citizens the app is pointless. Back to BRL I go!

Thank you for the fair feedback, and I’m sorry this was frustrating. The core issue here is New York-specific: the deposit infrastructure available to us is restricted there in ways we cannot override directly. Cash App Lightning is not available in New York, and our bank deposit partner currently cannot support that route there either. We’re updating the app so this is shown clearly on the relevant deposit screens, and we’ll add another usable route for New York residents as soon as we can.

Wouldn’t approve me for no reason

I just tried signing up for Wanderwallet and went through all the checks of identity, etc. Without reason, the Noah secondary portion of the app approval refused to approve me to utilize bank transfer and asked for Coinbase or Bitcoin. No. Every other financial institution seems to think I’m trustworthy, so I’ll continue using those. Stupid.

Hi Eden, we’re sorry for the confusion here. This is not about WanderWallet deciding you are not trustworthy. Our banking partners currently do not provide bank deposit details to New York residents, and your account falls under that restriction. This is a recent change, and we should have communicated it more clearly in the app. We’re updating the flow and messaging so this is explained upfront instead of after you complete verification. We’re sorry for the poor experience.

This app is awesome! Much better exchange rate than either credit card or taking out cash. And you don’t have to worry about making change for small purchases. We traveled all over Brazil and they accept it everywhere. The equivalent of PIXS which is what locals use.

Hi, we are sorry this felt stressful, but no funds were lost at any point. We were in touch with you from day one and had full visibility on the deposit throughout the review. Our banking partner requested proof of address several times by email; we understand you said you did not receive those messages, which unfortunately slowed the process down. As we also explained directly, WanderWallet strictly instructs users in the app to make first-party deposits only, where the sender name matches the account holder. This deposit did not follow that requirement, so additional compliance checks were required. Once the requested steps were completed, the money was received successfully.

Not available to people who reside in UK

Why don’t you make it clear that the app and your process for authentication makes this app unusable to people who reside in the UK? Either fix the issue or be upfront

Absolutely amazing app. Have had 0 trouble paying with pix in Brazil. LOVE that I can use cashapp to add money instead of my bank account. PHENOMENAL. So happy i found this.

Impressively prompt response from customer service with useful information when I had a question about a payment. Pix transfers using QR codes work seamlessly in Brazil.

Indispensable travel app

On the money for design, ease of use, rapid account set up. I’m traveling in Brazil currently and have used this to pay for everything from bottles of water at a street stall to full hotel stays. Received many positive comments from Brazilians pleasantly surprised that I can use Pix. Nearly everyone prefers this as a mode of exchange, and my cards and their chips are safely out of reach from scammers. Highly recommended.

Really good for Bolivia

I was using this app during my travels in Bolivia and literally every purchase I made was 20% cheaper. Saved a lot of money.
The deposit options are kinda limited, but still - super worth it

Great App

I used this in Brazil - it’s brilliant since there are so many little apps or services that only take Pix, and as a foreigner it’s so frustrating. But this app works great. I had one issue paying a business quite a large sum (brl$500), but the balance was returned to me quite quickly.

Great Wallet for Argentina Use

This is a great app with a lot of options to fund the account. Two things i wish we could do: 1. send zelles straight to the account. 2. be able to send to aliases from mercado pago.

Other than that, it works as intended.

Edit: Replying to your reply, if you add the ability to send to aliases, you’ll be the only
app currently that can do that and would totally capture more market share.
