Cuts to staff writers have decimated the quality of this paper from premier to merely average. The sports section covering local supports has been reduced to a bear minimum, and the paper is now replete with AP coverage— it’s crazy how little local content remains. The owner should be fired.
Wash Post review
I subscribe to the Washington Post and The New York Times (both liberal rags by the way), but I’d like to give Kudos to the Post. I’ve had both subscriptions for over 4 years, and for the entire time the Post has charged me $4/month, let’s me read every article and play all of their online games. Meanwhile, the NYT starts out charging $4/month for the first 6 months, raises it to $8 then quietly increases it until I was paying $25/MONTH! This is for the digital only subscription. I can only play certain games and can only read specific articles. What is wrong with this picture?

I like fact that Washington Post interviews scientific experts and quotes published works to back up analysis of current issues ranging from AI to proper skin care (don’t take too many hot showers).

I only keep my subscription because I like the cooking section and investigative journalism. Otherwise it’s gone downhill. Too many shallow articles about style, popular culture, etc. I miss the excitement opinion writers like Petri, Milbank,and others. The Post has lost so many top notch journalists in an effort to placate Trump and his supporters. Very sad,

WaPo’s news coverage is still great, though it is suffering from the layoffs of so many staffers. I no longer trust the independence of its editorial board. “Democracy Dies When Craven Billionaires Control the Media.” You could’ve been a hero, Bezos.

The Seven has just the right amount of news. It keeps me informed on hot button issues. It also test my mind skills with the all the word games and quizzes. Love it
Ads are far to disruptive
I am a paid subscriber and have to look at ad after ad which disrupts my enjoyment of the articles . Please devise how to deal with this

the once lauded might wapo has crumbled under jeff bezos intentional dismantling of katherine grahams once stellar journalistic institution. it’s sad to see. but other papers and outlets are stepping in. while there are a few good reporters left here it won’t be long until the wapo has as much credibility as murdoch owned new york post. sayonara
