Amazing app and a dose of reality ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There's nothing more wild than seeing how much money you waste on useless items, especially material goods like unnecessary clothing or trinkets. App UI is simple, straightforward, and effective in giving you a slap in the face by total spend, inflated categories you spend on, or wasted money per month/date.
I typically save my emailed receipts for larger or more expensive purchases so I just cross referenced my receipts and added them into the app. What do you know? The wasted $$$ looks worse and more regretful when grouped together, obviously, and you see how much money could have been used elsewhere on necessities, experiences, vacations, etc.
Most people likely don't want to face this type of information, but it's useful to get an understanding of poor spending habits and start working to get your finances and addictions in order. Also, the ability to add notes/memos about the purchases allows you to really reflect on why you bought it, how you feel about the purchase on reflection, and what you plan to do if you still have the item (sell, donate, repurpose/use due to initial cost?)
I'm giving the app 5 stars as is because I want more people to face reality with using something like this. It's simple and probably the best app I was able to find that isn't overdone with overall finance/savings/spending features. The simplicity is what makes this more useful for painting a picture of your spending.
FEEDBACK FOR DEVELOPER:
This app is great, but I would love if the following features were added (and likely more in the future):
- Ability to pay one-time fee to remove ads (up to $5 USD maximum)
- View all spending in a pie chart by category, which can be filtered by month/year, and gives you percentages per category within a calendar year or selected month. For example: 80% spent on clothes and 30% spent on accessories for 2023; also the ability to see the pie chart sectioned off by level of regret for said purchases
- Import purchases from your banking account to get titles, dates, and prices automatically, then users can add photos and notes. This would make tracking easier and more all-encompassing because you wouldn't miss items. If it's not a regretful purchase, you can skip importing that purchase and it won't show on the app. This is likely a heavy build for a developer, so even an option like uploading a CSV file would be cool (allows users to download a CSV bank statement and import)
