To help explain what happened: Waterkaarten is specifically tailored for inland and coastal boating. While we do offer some coastal routes, our main focus is on rivers, canals, and inland waters, and our routing along the French coast is actually still under active development. Because safety is our absolute priority, our system is designed to be incredibly cautious, keeping vessels within tightly verified corridors rather than plotting a direct line across open deep-sea waters. This is likely why it guided you 6 NM out to ensure you safely cleared potential hazards while we continue to expand our maps. Whereabouts in the Mediterranean were you trying to plot your trip?
