Very poor update

This year’s app update has caused significant lag in Bluetooth connection between my iPhone and ColorQ 2x. Sometimes it does not see the device at all, despite the ColorQ being powered on and the Bluetooth symbol flashing. Even when it does ultimately connect, it takes several minutes to establish a connection, with the app simply flashing “scanning for BLE devices” for 2-5 minutes prior to establishing a connection. This seems like a bug that should have been identified and addressed prior to releasing this version. The update is significantly extending the time it takes me to test my water. Very disappointing.

The new update broke the connection to my Spin Touch.

The new software has a better look and feel but it does not find my spin touch. Stays in scanning BLE devices phase. Shameful.

App Update

I encountered several issues after the recent app update. I emailed support late on a Friday afternoon and was pleased to get a quick response back. Brandon was very helpful, resolved my issues and followed up to make sure everything was working correctly. Great customer service!!!

New update broke it

The new update broke the app. Every time I select pool, it asks me to set the profile and when I hit save it just hangs. I deleted it and reinstalled, reset my phone, restarted the colorQ but nothing gets me to where I start testing chemicals. An app that worked great for years just turned my expensive test kit into junk.

From good to horrible

This App used to work very well….until this update. Now it does not remember the login info and it has to be typed every single time. Also it is more difficult to navigate. Please go back to previous version for those of us that buy the testing chemicals

Lost data

Won’t connect to test unit. No help from app. If your phone goes to sleep, all is lost. Not good at all, find something else.

Update: they updated app, which caused all my data to be deleted. Now it won’t connect to Color Q 2x. Now goes to blank screen. Wow, expensive brick.

Can’t Connect

Readings disappear

When taking readings the app either changes pages or times out and the reading disappear. You should be able to continue from where you left off or be able to pause so that all of the readings go into the same timeframe. I have some reading that have been split into two, but more often than I want it to happen, the reading disappear ha just disappear.

Worked great up until the most recent update

Before the last update, I use the photo to scan my test strips and it worked great!

Now every time I go to scan the photo it just sits there and spins and tells me “ image is currently being processed”. Never returns any results.

Garbage

I can’t even get the app to work. Downloaded it on my iPhone and then I go to set up a password and it keeps telling it is already being used. Tried 18 times with 18 different passwords with the same result. This is a garbage app for sure.

Needs more Customization Features

The WaterLink Solutions App interface works well with my ColorQ test kit, but it would be much more useful if I could adjust the parameter ranges in the App to those recommended by MasterSpas for my swim spa and hot tub. That would make the correction recommendations more accurate to my specific needs.

When I wrote LaMotte they replied “The WaterLink Solutions Home app is designed as a simple, easy to use program for the average homeowner and does not offer much customization or alteration to the prebuilt profiles. LaMotte also offers WaterLink Solutions Pro which is designed for pool professionals and users who require more customization to the profiles. The base subscription is free for WaterLink Solutions Pro.”

As a homeowner, if you give me the ability to customize my chemicals in the App I should also be able to customize the parameter ranges. Having incorrect parameter ranges gives me erroneous correction recommendations because it calculates based on the incorrect ranges. This should be a simple update and I shouldn’t have to switch to the Pro version of the App to get this minimal level of functionality.

Does What I Need

Although it took two passes thru the process, once over the short learning curve I learn everything I need about my pool water.

Can’t create account

I have entered my information and I never receive the email to verify my account. I have asked it to resend multiple times and have looked in junk mail but nothing.

Easy and simple

We use this together as a family testing water, and everyone knows how to use it. Highly recommend.

Love the simplicity. Took me 30 minutes to get my wife up to speed and she isn’t technical at all. I’m out of town all the time for work so she is the maintenance tech. We love it!

Great idea - doesn’t really work.

I upgrade from colorq to colorq2x because the blind tooth reporting and data collection sounded awesome. To date (numerous tries) I have never completed a test. Every time the phone goes to sleep , a record is missed, something goes wrong. The whole thing is kind of flakey (both the color q and the software and together they are a bit of a fail.

No One To Ask

I just purchased the ColorQ 2X and downloaded the app. I am a new user and trying to create an account is pathetic. I put in name and what password I want and that’s all there is folks.
I scanned the reviews on here and cannot see where the app creators answer peoples questions.
I don’t need this app any how, I do have log book and pen!!!
