Brilliant as always

Paul’s apps are always a cut above and this is no exception. It took a lot of sinking in because I’m getting old, but I’ve got the hang of it now.
The Waveglide and Matrix features are superb.
Well done my fellow Yorkshire Brother.

Fantastic!

One of the best granular synths I’ve ever used. Well thought out, sounds great and just an overall pleasure to use. Thats not easy to come by in granular synths. Thanks!!

Terrible auv3 implementation and rubbish on iPhone

Does not load up in GarageBand, why not? Have not bought a music app in years… so I pulled the trigger on this as it looks great in videos, something for ambient soundscaping.
Further, it doesn’t really work as a standalone, only fills half the screen on my iPhone so the controls are not accessible nor can you read anything descriptive
What is the point of making an app universal if it won’t fill up the iPhone screen? Judging by the amount of apps this dev releases, it seems he is in a hurry and doesn’t consider aesthetics and placement a priority.
Asked Apple for a refund and won’t touch this devs apps again
Be careful if you are an iPhone user

Works fine in GarageBand, so I assume you are doing something wrong. This app is an AUv3 plugin and not a standalone app. It only runs in standalone mode to allow backup of presets. It works fine when loaded under a DAW. In my humble opinion you don’t deserve a refund as you haven’t contacted me for technical support. Apple really needs to check these claims are true before issuing any refunds.

This is just wonderful. I can’t find anywhere to ask a question though so I’ll ask here . How do I play just the raw sample on the keyboard? Thanks

Fantastic

This is great app. Not sure what the other review means by “engin sound”?? App is feature rich and sounds amazing. If I have one gripe it’s to do with the drawing of the gui. Initially the interface is drawn small, you can resize but it never seems to fill the screen. This is mildly annoying. But the app is 5 star for sure.

Powerful, and fun

Love this app - as well as having incredibly deep functionality for playing and mangling your samples, the randomisation options also make it fun to create your own presets.

A very powerful tool for sound designers.

This synth is nice sounding! The developer is quick, responsive, and has worked out a UI solution that will help with the app sizing…and it also seems like the knobs work better? Kool!

There were some other improvements as well, making this synth even more desirable to use.

I’ve added a new option to Settings called Force Full Screen. If you turn this off the interface will be more accessible on the iPhone allowing scrolling between the two parts of the interface. I really wasn’t sure if to allow this app to run on iPhone since it really does need the screen space, but I was hoping people would except the limitation and be thankful it was at least supported. Maybe in future I will have to reconsider adding support if it harms my review status.

This app is so useful in tying together my collection of underused noise generators in an easily controllable, musical way. It’s super quick to get to that “wow! I’m a preset master!” feeling - you know, that vibe only the enigmatic inner circle of music production illuminati could possibly ever resonate with - and why wouldn’t you want that?

Of course you want that. So get this app and get tinkering. Then leave a glowing review! Pass it on…

Feature rich!

I won't name names but the enormous feature set on this synth makes a few other granular synths practically obsolete. Finally a sample based granular synth that allows me to record, manage, edit, and ADD TO samples within the app. Unparalleled workflow for chasing a sound. The inclusion of an oscillator in there to is fantastic not only for adding a distinct pitch to noisier things if you want, but also is perfect to use for TUNING a sample by ear so that you can use pitched samples and fit them to the proper keys for playing with other synths. The Waveglide functions are unique and super musical! Such interesting sounds to be created. Lastly, the CPU usage is tiny compared to most granular synths. Just wow.

Unresponsive UI and auv3 crash

I don’t know why I keep giving 4Pockets apps a chance. Every time it’s disappointing. The UI is unresponsive and cluttered. The knobs don’t always move smoothly or as expected. You should go look at Bleass apps for how to create a smooth UI experience.

Loading it in AUM crashed once after installing. Running iOS 16.6.1. iPad
Pro 2018.

Sorry to hear you are having issues, but these issues can be easily resolved. In most cases the knob issue is because people are trying to move the knobs in a circular motion, which is incorrect. In the Settings menu there are options to control how the knobs work (vertical, horizontal or both axis) so you simply TAP and drag either horizontally or vertically. The next version also has a SHIFT button for fine tuning parameters using the knobs. NOTE: You always need to open AUv3's in standalone mode first to ensure the app and presets are setiup correctly, after that it should function fine. This is true of all AUv3 apps that have upgradable content.
