Provide some type option for free
Couldn’t tell you what the app offers. Obviously you give your email and name before they tell you anything. Once you create a simple profile, pay wall. X out, restart… same paywall. X out, log back in paywall.
Like no offense I understand the idea a company needs profits but i don’t and know one else knows what the app helps with doing. Let me just pay 70 buck to find out like no! Fix your philosophy, make it free then ask for money like every other app.

Just what I needed!
I used Wavve to navigate Okanagan Lake and Shuswap Lake in BC, Canada in a rented boat that had no depth gauge.
Once you get the hang of it, it works *great* — it was just what I needed:
- I downloaded the map for offline use because I wouldn’t have signal
- I viewed the map looking for shallow spots to be ready for
- I entered boat draft and expected avg speed
- I manually entered routes, and then looked at the time estimates
- And then I watched my progress along the routes live as I boated.
Outstandingly well thought out and designed.

Great App for novice boaters!
I’m on Lake of the Woods 1-2 weeks per year. This app removes a lot of anxiety for me as a minimally experienced boater. Especially regarding navigation and hazards.
I love this app!
I’ve been using Wavve for years and it only gets better. The charts are so easy to read and the autorouting is phenomenal.
I’ve tried all the nav apps out there and this is the closest thing to actually having Google Maps on the water! I also love all the community points and seeing other Wavve app users on the water, it really has started to feel like a community. I also need to say that their customer support is the best I’ve ever interacted with. They are so friendly and get back to you right away. I’m sure I will be a lifelong customer.

Thought it would be like Waze but no it’s not free and I don’t need it enough to pay.
Huge help navigating an unfamiliar lake
Very accurate course and water depth navigation!
Not Useful in Northern Ontario
The map is not topical, the same map as google satellite. Shallows totally missing for Lake Huron. Also lost $12 after using the app for 2h because cancelling is for next month. Couldn’t use without signing up.
Forced subscription before trying
Sucks all apps force you to agree to subscription rather then providing you with an actual free trial like this one I was gonna give it a try but not anymore

i wanted to go out on a few lakes near me but it literally says no information. but showes me everything about other lakes 200 miles away. waste of money for this app
Does this work with apple car play as i have a screen installed on my boat
I have a car play device on the boat which alone music and so on but also does gps so is this app compatible with apple car play?

Hi William, thanks for your review! Unfortunately, Wavve does not run on Apple CarPlay at this time. That said, we understand how valuable that feature could be and will pass it along to our development team for future updates.

Has no depth data on one of the most popular lakes in the country
No free version
Pay to use only app. Makes you create an account then can’t use the app without providing payment details for a brief trial period.

Locked behind a paywall
This is a $70 a year app. Total waste of money and completely misleading. Not free at all.
Not Free!
They make you to enter all your info thinking that you’re getting a free app (& maybe pay for some features) but then they tell you that it costs $70 a year! (With a 14-day free trial). The problem is most apps like this will charge you the moment you say “yes” to free trial and cancelling it is a headache!

Looks like it would be amazing
If only they had the lakes that I boat on, it appears it would be a fantastic app and worth the money.
I live in “Lake Country” and it’s named that for a reason. However none of our lakes, even our largest lakes aren’t available on the map!

Works great, saved me a ton of money buying multiple gps chart plotters/units for different boats!
Routing need a LOT of work
The maps are nice but the routes take you through land, marinas, and dangerous areas. Not quite up to spec yet. Has potential though.
