About

Weiming Terminal is a native SSH client built for people who live in remote shells. No cloud vault, no embedded editor, no analytics — just the fastest path from your iPhone or iPad to a trustworthy remote machine. WHAT YOU GET • Saved hosts with one-tap connect, search, duplicate, favorite • Host groups to organize connections into folders • Password, imported Ed25519 key, and device-bound Secure Enclave P-256 authentication using real CryptoKit signing • Trust-on-first-use host key verification with stable SHA-256 fingerprints that match ssh-keygen -lf exactly • A real terminal surface powered by SwiftTerm: PTY resize, full UTF-8, ANSI colors, copy and paste, scrollback • Customizable special key bar for Esc, Tab, Ctrl, Alt, arrows, Home, End, Page Up, Page Down — modifier-aware so Ctrl+C and Alt+. work the way you expect • Terminal search to find text in scrollback • Command history across sessions • Two-finger pan cursor gestures with speed-aware movement • Hardware keyboard shortcuts for tabs, reconnect, snippets, and search • Multiple concurrent sessions in tabs, sharing a single app-wide event loop for snappy switching • Saved snippets with {{variable}} placeholders for the commands you run a hundred times a day • Live Activity on Dynamic Island and Lock Screen for active SSH sessions • iPad-optimized sidebar and split view layout • Themes: Default Dark, Solarized Dark, Monokai, Light • Face ID, Touch ID, or Optic ID lock on launch • Built on Apple's SwiftNIO SSH and CryptoKit — no proprietary cryptography WHAT IT DOES NOT DO By design, Weiming Terminal does not run a local shell, embed a code editor, host a cloud credential vault, sync to third-party services, or include any analytics or tracking. Your hosts and credentials live only on your device, in the iOS Keychain and Secure Enclave. REQUIREMENTS iOS 26 or later. iPhone and iPad supported.

What's New in Weiming Terminal

2.0.1

April 21, 2026

Sync across your devices, plus a round of polish and correctness. • iCloud sync: hosts, host groups, snippets, and trusted host-key fingerprints now sync across your iPhones and iPads. Passwords and private keys stay in the Keychain on each device — set those up per-device. • Theme preview now matches reality: the picker renders the same 8-colour ANSI palette the terminal actually uses, so Solarized Dark and Monokai look how you expect when you tail coloured log output. • Generate your Secure Enclave public key before saving a host. Hit the new "Generate Device Key Now" button in the host form to get the `authorized_keys` line, add it to your server, then save. • Toggling Require Face ID / Touch ID on an existing host now actually re-applies the access-control gate. Previously the change only took effect after you also replaced the credential. • "Reconnecting (n/N)…" clears once the retry budget is exhausted instead of sticking on screen. • Ctrl + Alt + letter combinations now work as expected with the key bar modifiers. • Live Activity toggle shows a clear "Disabled in System Settings" hint when you've turned Live Activities off system-wide, instead of a silent toggle that does nothing. Under the hood: tighter credential rollback, serialised terminal input writes so keystrokes can't transpose under load, SwiftData rollback for host edits, CloudKit-aware known-hosts handling, and a pile of concurrency/Sendable correctness fixes.
