Frustrating
This app is horrible. It cuts off or starts in the middle of some of the highlighted programs …9@9. It’s too many ads for each different clip and it never gives you the full story. I deleted it. I recently moved from that area, so I enjoyed keeping it with the news. But it’s not worth the frustration.

Radar too small & busy
I’ve loved this App for years, but recent changes make the radar on the phone near-impossible to read. (I still like it on my tablet) The home screen has too much info and temps and controls now take up so much space, I struggle to see what’s happening. The radar “play” is no longer transparent.
I’m using the app during a major storm outbreak right now and need to see more area! This app is my main source of weather when I don’t have my tablet with me. (I’d rate the App 4.5 if I only used the tablet)
I’d have sent “developer feedback” instead of leaving this sad review, but there is no link: everything goes to the WGN website where (once painstakingly located) the Contact list does NOT include the WGN app developers. Fix that, too! This App used to have a Technical Feedback link.

Poor updates
The current update to the app has ads and banners taking up more than 50% of the screen space on my iPhone. Difficult to interpret.
Been using for years. Ad pop-ups ruined it
Ads pop-up frequently and take up the entire screen for sometimes 30+ seconds. I’ve patiently waited because I really like WGN and the weather app but it’s gotten to the point where I’m waiting longer to use the app than the actual time checking the weather. On top of that there have been times where I can’t even close out of an ad and I have to quit the app and try again just to experience the same issue of not being able to close the ad.

Ads have overrun the app
Used to be a great app for quickly checking the weather and now they force you to sit through full screen ads for 15 seconds at a time, and the same ad again when you switch screens to a different section. It’s making it all but unusable.
App has bugs
This was a great app until the last update. Now giant pop up ads come on repeatedly and won’t click off. Have to restart it several times before it works. Did no one test it out?
Ad aggressive
This used to be my go to weather app. In the last 6 months there’s so many pop up ads it’s really not worth it anymore.
You’re better off just going with Accuweather or The Weather Channel. Apps like WGN are just way too money hungry and kill you with pop up ads

Used to be great! Ads block the app
Some ads I get. But ads that pop up, block the screen, and then the little counter STOPS! The app is unbearable now.
Junk
The ads lock up my iPad mini 6. You can’t x out of ad. The app locks up. You have to get out of app then restart several times.

I want to see the weather, not some old guy wearing a HD vest. Can’t get rid of these ads either.
The App is going downhill
The last changes made it less helpful, functional and more confusing. With the addition of the pop up advertising that interrupts the forecasts it takes longer and longer to access. I’d rather pay than have the ads.

The number of ads has increased quite a lot and often the app gets stuck on an ad, so I don’t get to the actual weather any more.
Complete unusable
This used to be my favorite weather app but it’s become completely unusable lately because of ads. Huge ads take over the whole screen and they don’t disappear when you tap the x. It’s literally impossible to see the weather. So disappointed.

Freezing ads have rendered my former favorite weather app unusable. Tom Skilling would be as disappointed as I am.
No longer any good
It used to be a pretty solid app but now the ads, which I get, take forever to load and cut in while you’re viewing the info and if you’re changing a location, you have to go thru the whole procedure again. The app has become tedious…
