Garbage
WILX redid their app and made it worse. Trying to watch the news; it gives you opposite orientation when you screen share from iphone. Worked right on ipad for a minute then when cc was turned off the sound went away and didn’t come. Watched the WLNS news instead. The old app worked fine.

Ads, ads, and more ads.
This used to be a useful ap that i have used for years, but not anymore. News sometimes takes days to update and you have to run a gauntlet of ads for every action now. I’ll be deleting now after tens years of using it.
WILX News app
I really liked the old format. I could quickly and easily find what I was looking for. Now I need to find the department from a drop down menu and then select what subject I want to see. Also the new app shows so much of each article that the letters a small and hard to skim through.

I definitely prefer the previous version of the app.
So Many Ads
You must watch a 30 second ad when opening the app and an ad for every article you click on. It’s been the same gmc ad for over a year now.
Can’t even open the app without waiting 30 seconds for an add! Terrible!
Not recommended at all, I have much better things to do with my time rather than waste it waiting for a stupid add to run!

Used to be ok
Now a ad runs from the start before the app loads. 15 seconds of wasted time. Cannot alter the ad it has to run its course. Will delete and use the WLNS app instead for local news.

I tried to like it but it’s kinda one-sided.

I won’t go here anymore, I’m sick of having to watch commercials every time I log in or click on an article!

Can’t adjust text size
I can’t use this app because it does not offer any way to adjust the text size within the articles. Non compliant and unacceptable.

Review
The app is not refreshing when it has news updates. The same thing is online for days. I’ve even turned my phone off and back on to see if that helps but it doesn’t.
ADS!!!
The app itself is fine, but the ads are pretty annoying. I would much rather be able to pay $1.99 or something to remove as then have to deal with an ad every single time I launch the app.

Can’t silence notifications
You get spoken notifications even when phone is on silent AND they are topics that you unselect! This is very annoying and also embarrassing when it happens during a moment of silence or when during a work meeting. It was really bad when it happened right after we were all told to silence phones in case of an active shooter event. I decided the app was dangerous after that, even if the chance of that happening was minuscule.

Awful
However, the app never loads. I often have to delete the app and reload it and then it works for a day or two. I have moved away from Lansing but still have family there and want to keep up on the news. I hate having to go to different stations because you keep such a limited number of stories on your app. Also the font is so small I can’t even read it anymore. I’m giving up and go into the Fox News app for Lansing.
