An awesome update to the original Windy App!
I recently bought this updated app, and I love the new soundscape, and the awesome updates to the audio and music (if you want the music). The settings in the app let you control all aspects of the sound. It was well worth buying the updated app! It helps me get to sleep every single night.

Windy
I’ve been using the original Windy for a very long time. I love it! I use it at bedtime. I appreciate Franz and the quality and value his apps provide. I love the graphics. And I don’t care what skin color the characters in illustration have. I don’t pay much attention to the illustration work anyway. I fall asleep quickly most of the time. I’ve tried a couple of other apps but I like this the best.

Nearly a decade
I’ve been listening to rain on a tent on the OG windy app for nearly ten years, so, yeah I would say the app is worth it

Great app for focusing and relaxing
Been a long-time user of Thunderspace (which I prefer, but it doesn't run on my mac, so here we are) so I expected this to be great going in.
As expected, the soundscapes are wonderful, and highly tweakable to suit your needs/wants.
I took off a start because I don't understand the different "views" or the story, and hate (despise?) the icon. I'd pay to be able to change the icon and be able to substitute my own images as backgrounds.
I miss the Thunderspace UI where I could easily choose the general geographic location from a side-panel and enjoy the sounds. No pictures, no strange animals/people (Rainy the Raindeer!?). Just a smooth color gradient.
Two last comments: WHY FORCE LANDSCAPE? Also, if I wanted music, I'd play my own music. You're nature recordings are great, so I'm not sure why you'd want to muddle them by overlaying department store music.

Updated Windy Pro is a worthwhile upgrade and highly recommended. But…
The addition of extraneous sound dampening and the re-invigorated environments are easily worth the cost. Plus it’s nice to support a developer who doesn’t insist on yet another subscription. This is a great app. In isolation, it’s easily worthy of a five-star rating.
However, it can’t be judged merely by its own merits, not in today’s world. I therefore maintain my now long-standing objection to the thumbnail imagery. I think it’s now even more clearly in poor taste to display a caucasian person with what looks to me, and I am certain, at a minimum, to the bulk of the entire North American population, like she’s displaying traditional American Indian/Native American symbolism. To be blunt, it’s hardly different than blackface, and at this juncture, has long past the point of acceptance or excuse.
It’s possible I’m only demonstrating ignorance in these concerns. Perhaps there is some northern European population that adopted physical display traditions independently of those of North America. If so, I’ll be happy to withdraw my criticism. But if not, and if this continues to the app’s next iteration, I’ll be withdrawing my support instead, and be kicking this problem up the chain of action. I seriously doubt Apple would countenance this level of disrespect. Please correct what I can only assume is an oversight. I would love to give this app back its full five stars.
