Pointless and inaccurate
The wire diameters displayed in inches (decimal) are inaccurate to AWG specifications.
Entering custom wattage values gives oversized wire gauge values as results that do not match up with the National Electrical Code / NEC.
For example: Enter in 7500W @ 240v and it calculates that you need 6awg. Simple ohms law tells us that amp draw will only be 31.25a.
A 40 amp breaker will easily cover this and would only require smaller 8awg wire.
Additionally, the app lists the inch/decimal size for 14awg (solid) as .073”. 14awg solid is .064. 14swg ‘stranded’ is .083. App consistently gives inaccurate size values for all gauges.
The app should be renamed -WireClown.

Thank you for your review and providing such detailed feedback. Result of calculations should be considered as hint in direction rather than clear instruction. The app includes some safe gap on top to cover case when some items might be forgotten to be listed. This provides safer results for users. These calculations are only recommendations and should not replace professional electrician’s advice.
