Updated review - AWFUL SHOCKING APP
Updated 2026: SHOCKING SHOCK ING SHOCKING APP!!!!! If I was you, AVOID AVOID AVOID. Video calls never connect and when they do it’s jumping all over the place and delayed as for before it STILL takes 3 attempts to make a video call, phone calls there is approx a 30 second delay so you cannot actually have a conversation with someone. If I was the CEO or the “creator” of this app I would be embarrassed. This is not a successful app, this is abysmal. It’s unfortunate that I have to continue to use this app and I am ONCE again looking forward to the day I NEVER have to use this again. If you would like a successful app and without any negative comments.. I would sort it out! If I could I’d leave 0 starts out of 5.

To make a video call it takes at least 3 attempts to get it to connect, to either see said persons face, the 2nd time you can see but not hear them and then the 3rd finally works!! Drains your phone battery even when not using it, looking forward to the day I never have to use this app again.

Notifications
This app is nice to talk to my friends overseas, however it is very annoying that it still sends notifications while the app is open and you’re in the middle of a convo. You have to clear the notification for literally every single message that comes through. Can you guys fix that? Sure I can turn it off while using it, and then back on again, but no other app is like that. It’s inconvenient when I’m in and out of the app doing other things. I wouldn’t get notified to come back to the app when I get another message.

Phantom notifications
Please add a location in the app where I can view all of the reasons the app has given me a notification.

Reset push notifications
Ever wanted to use an app where you never get notifications? Where you have to reset your notification token every 5 minutes otherwise there’s nothing and sometimes, even after resetting there’s still nothing? How about a support team who ignores the problem and goes out of their way to blame you for their own mistakes? How about an app that just straight up doesn’t connect and the only way to “fix” it is to restart your phone, not the app, the entire phone because it’s running on spaghetti code? If you want a buggy mess then this app is for you!
Update: the app still hasn’t been fixed. If you ever need to know when someone has messaged you then please, by all means, do not rely on this app.

I see other reviews where it’s stated that the notification issue was fixed. I just installed this app about a week ago. They have not worked since. Very frustrating.

Have used this app a long time with no issues on my end. For the last month or so though my messages seem to not be getting delivered. I receive messages but people seem to not be getting mine. It magically started working again for a little while and now is not working again. Sent a email to support and debug log and never heard anything back.

Major new accessibility problem, used to be great.
I am a blind user of the app. I used to use it for work back until February, and I uninstalled cause I didn’tt hink it was needed anymore. In the last few days, i had to redownload and connect to a new team. Some time in the last month there ws an update that changed the messages part of the app. My screenreader (voiceover on apple ipad and iphone) doesn’t read the messages anymore. When I open a team or group or personal chat with a coworker, voiceover will read who sent the message, what time it was sent, that I can tripple tap to add reactions, but it will no longer read the actual messages. As you can tell, this is a huge problem. Thankfully the website version still works though it is majorly inconvenient. If this can be fixed, I’ll put my rating on five stars because in terms of security and overall past function, that’s what this app is. *February 2026 update*: this voiceover has been fixed, and as promised, I improved the rating to five stars.

a disable bubble color
There is no option to disable the bubble colors. What has this turned into? Fluffy Chat? Not impressed and looking for alternative now.
Needs more customizable options
The app itself is good and will bloom wonderfully in time. For now PLEASE LET THE USER CUSTOMIZE THE CHAT us girlie like things pretty no matter how professional we are 🌻💫🫰🏼

Frequent issues with chat loss, sudden disassociation of client or browser and server, no internet issues which imply certificate pinning failure somewhere in Wire’s network . Errors about random people being removed from chats years after they were gone. Ability to delete former users is nice, probably the only reason we are using it.

Support is Nonexistent!
Started well, not flashy but perfectly adequate. However, the support is atrocious (read nonexistent). Seeing as this is an App is aimed at businesses (I use it amongst work colleagues) there is no consideration for urgency or issue resolution. I hope to have my sign-in issue rectified but it’s 2 weeks and counting (zero response so far).

Notifications are still not working, even though your most recent update notes address the issue. Either offer a paid version for non-enterprise users or support the free side.
Downloading photos
App works fine until I download photos. It then freezes and crashes. So have to reinstall it.

Since you keep updating this app I no longer receive notifications until I have to open the app to check for a message
