App stopped working and continually crashes on iOS 12.5.7

One of the last updates has made the app completely unusable on iPad iOS 12.5.7. Suggested workaround (in a similar review) is not feasible as I can’t even open the app to access Settings.

Please employ/contract some decent developers

You’ve changed the app to enforce SSL - which finally does appear to work now. However, you have decided not allow users to save the password. You’ve used your usual lazy approach to app design. Saving passwords in Apple keychain is considered secure by most apps.

After 10+ years of using cbus; since a few months back you finally get the mobile app into a usable (though far from intuitive and slick) state. Now you’ve gone back a step by preventing the system password from being saved.

You’ve might of improved security but I will now not use the Wiser 2 app. I’m not entering (secure - i.e. long and complex) passwords every time I want to switch a light on. Was that your intent, so people stop using the app and you don’t have to bother ‘developing’ it.

App always reports the wrong time on cbus, but clicking on it sets it to phone time. It’s unclear whether the app is wrong or it’s the repeating problem of cbus Wiser unit or PAC losing the time. I’ve spent way too much time trying to follow up and resolve Clipsal problems.

New update 3.1 not working on mobile network

The current update not working on the IOS 12.5.7 on local wifi

Response from developer

Thank you for reporting the problem you have experienced with the latest update to the C-Bus Wiser 2 Home Controller Application. The Issue you are experiencing has been reproduced and is currently being worked on to a resolution. A future update will be released to address the problem, In the meantime, we can offer you a temporary workaround that should allow you to maintain a connection remotely to your home. Workaround steps. 1. Under Settings, Edit the Current controller and remove the WAN IP or URL from the settings. This is best done while on your home Wi-Fi Connection If you are not able to be on your Home Wi-Fi then the process can still be done but you will have to save the changes without validation. 2. Under Settings, Add a Second Controller under a new name to the Application, For this new Controller only enter details for Remote IP /URL and Leave the Local Connection empty. Save the new Controller. Connecting Remotely to your Home, using Phone Data or Remote Wi-Fi, you will need to select the newly created Controller from the controller's list, When away from your home. This Workaround of the problem is temporary and the newly created controller can be deleted when an update to the Wiser App is released to address the problem. You will need to add back the Remote IP / URL to the original controller when the Application fixing the problem has been released.

Many Great Suggestions and Many Problems

After reading through many of the past reviews there are some great ideas for improvements to the Wiser. There are also many problems which arise with this system.
I have also experienced some of these mostly connection issues with my system and I am regularly contacting my technician for troubleshooting assistance.
It’s very disappointing that even after 3 or 4 years of reviews it seems that Clipsal is happy to ignore all these issues and suggestions as the same problems keep happening and none of the great suggestions appear to have been implemented.
Sorry Clipsal, we are now in 2024 and your Wiser feels like it belongs back in the 1980’s.

You can’t turn off SSL

The worst ever!!!

update an app just to remote port 80 HTTP connection. Do you know there are a lot of people still using http? Do you know it cost hundreds of dollar to call the installer to change from http to https???

Awful App by a company that doesn’t care

Sometimes you just can’t understand companies who offer high end luxury consumer lighting products, which cost more than 5 times the normal wiring bill for a house, or in my case 35k to install.

Then they produce an App which they just leave for years. No abilities like Lutrons to put customers in control. No Siri integration to allow voice commands. No ability to add or remove from circuits in the App, or add new schedules. No holiday mode.

Just second rate and left to fester. It beggars belief as it’s not hard. Just employ 1 dev for his sake your a multinational company.

Clearly you don’t care

A buggy mess

Guys, 2008 called and they want their app back. Please start over again and write a decent app. I no longer have any access to my cbus from my iPhone, whether remotely or on my home Wi-Fi.

Have deleted, reinstalled, rebooted, tried different ports etc. Same app with identical settings still works on my iPad (for now).

Unacceptably poor for very expensive hardware.

Outdated, very limited functionality

The app is very basic.

Needs improvements

1. Add voice control integration
2. Add unique device number so that it connects remotely without needing static ip address and port forwarding. Look at what swan and eufy do. Your set up is so complicated for today’s IoT and home automation and not competitive.
3.Add a floor plan view where I can use it as landing page and see what devices/lights are on or off. At the moment its just a long list of lights that I need to scroll to check if I have any lights on.

No 4G access away from wifi

Again, We’re very disappointed in this app as the remote access keeps dropping out for no reason and we have to get a technician out to fix it. As it’s an integral part of our home’s security this leaves us vulnerable. Please advise what is being done to fix this. We’ve had it happen a few times this year and it’s very frustrating.

Upset of Manchester

Agreed, latest update broken view of camera in home WiFi setting, worked fine on previous version and still does on iPad. Also still works on 4g away from home. Pretty fundamental part of the app to lose

Fixed the camera view after two years, thanks ! Less upset now.

Stopped working altogether

As of a couple of days ago this app just won’t load - tried on several iPhones - and so is useless. Can someone at Schneider please sort it out!?!?

June 2022 update - no connectivity

After the recent update the Wiser app crashes out of the application

New update.

Just updated the app. Now it won’t open. :(

We need an update

Dear Developer
I use wiser app and I think it needs a major update!!!

Also I think it’s time to have wiser compatible with Apple HomeKit, is there a way!

We need your support!

Timers

app needs to update the timer widget....
once you click the timer, it starts working until you close the app and the timer resets and you can’t see what time the widget is really at...
please fix this asap

No cellular connection.

Followed the developer response from the 11th March and managed to get it working.
Hoping for another update shortly.

When you sorting out the log in issues

Getting a bit tired of having to re enter my details to log in

Breaks CCTV feed

Upgrading to this version stops the cctv feed working in the app. Previous version had my cctv cameras and lighting control on one page. Now no cctv feed. Still working ok on other iPhone running previous version.

Update April 2020 - New Wiser app version. Still haven't fixed the CCTV feed issue. You’ve only had 8 months to sort out the feature your broke in the last update. CBUS/Schneider need to pull their finger out of their a** and start investing some time into the CBUS platform or its going to die. What a shame, come on people, you’ve got great potential here!
